More than 275,000 players on Xbox yesterday

Exactly. Been playing Halo since CE and I can’t bring myself to give any more time to Infinite. It’s clear as day that they are ONLY prioritizing milking players for all their worth.

People are mostly playing Halo Infinite because they don’t want to miss out on the event stuff, not because they’re having a good time. I will be playing for Tenrai tonight, but I’ll be knocking out the weekly in 5 hours, so I won’t have to play the rest of the week.

Destiny is on multiple consoles and services, and a lot of people are hyped about Witch Queen coming out soon in a few weeks. That’s going to overhaul the system with weapon crafting. People always tend to come back when a new expansion drops. No point in really grinding the previous seasons knowing that the new stuff is going to be way better

Also, for all we know, Microsoft could be fluffing the numbers for the ranking list, since they don’t actually show us the real numbers or data at all. It could be artificially placed higher, to protect their baby boy Master Chief.

Also relevant to Destiny, since Sony/PlayStation bought Bungie for a 3.6 billion dollars, being 3.1 billion dollars more than the Halo Infinite budget, Destiny 3 is practically guaranteed, with possible books and movies now. The Destiny games are already absurdly packed full of lore, so they could easily do those.

You do realize that Halo 2 and Halo 3 got tons of flak right after they came out right? Just because a game gets some negativity doesn’t mean much.

343i will need to start intentionally hurting the game to catch up to BF 2042.

That’s dangerously optimistic.

They already are intentionally hurting the game by breaking their promises of what the game wouldn’t do and what it’s already done

It doesn’t help that they won’t publicly disclose or track their playercounts on anything but Steam. We can’t really gauge the game’s health with player counts as a metric, since we don’t really know how many there are on a given day.

As for development issues? That’s a strong indicator of the game’s health status. It’s not doing well, in brief, but I wouldn’t say dying. There wasn’t a day under the sun when Faber didn’t give 343 trouble, and now that the game’s been launched, hopefully the stupidly poor internal communications won’t have such exaggerated effects.

What a developer says is typically almost irrelevant in my eyes, by this logic Bethesda would’ve been out of business like a decade ago.

I mean you can on and on about how its store wasn’t supposed to cost any money, how Infinite was supposed to have the exact same customization (copy-pasted) as Reach, or how it was supposed to be the Haloest Halo of them all, but these things are worthless to the average gamer. People were calling 343i out a decade ago for Halo 4… Why do you think that devs “lying” (typically just hyperbollic garbage meant to illicit a response instead of an actual conversation) matters?

Infinite has a serious content problem. No amount of PR speak and goodwill moves are going to do anything about that. I don’t look at a game that lacks modes/features I’m interested in and think “but golly gee they’re good people!” No I think “well time to play another game”

All gamers really care about is what have they done for me lately and what will they do later on. I am the kind of person that believes in things like redemption and compassion so I don’t speak for everyone. Your solution is probably to put 343i devs behind bars (Royal2 style lol) so different ways of looking at things.

Battlefield 2042 was Battlefield 2042 well within a month my guy :joy:

Are you sure micro$ isn’t artificially placing Infinite above D2 to attract positive attention? Apparently there are over 20mil players on Infinite too.

That’s actually an interesting point. Back when Gears 5 released it got flooded with negative reviews on the Xbox store (rightly so). They deleted close to 1500 reviews (mine included, 4 times) and filled it with 2- 3 word positive reviews all saying the same thing to bring the 1.5 rating up to a 4.0.

They do this on the PC side to in their dot com sites too. Seeing Infinite above Destiny was comical, considering the gulf in content and quality between the two. It would not surprise me at all to find out it was just Micro$soft manipulating numbers for PR.

There’s no way they’re hitting those numbers on Xbox lol.

Yeah when TeePee has more viewers on twitch than Infinite has in its entirety I highly doubt there’s over 275k on Infinite lmao
