More severe quitting penalty please.

There seriously needs to be a more severe penalty for quitting. Longer bans and they need to add into the match making quitters get paired with quitters and those who don’t quit get paired with who don’t quit. Seriously. Pretty sure nearly half if not more of my btb games tonight didn’t end with full teams. Getting as bad as MCC quitting.

And I am pretty sure even reporting players for quitting does nothing at all.

Yeah. Quiting has been a epidemic

At least one player is missing each 3 games. It’s ridiculous, and plus it’s ranked playlists!

Definitely needs to be more severe.

I cant wait for the update that addresses this. When will that be btw ?

How about this when you quit x amount of times in a row you get locked out for 4 hours, and take a small hit on the req points as punishment.

You quit once, you are forgiven.
Twice within hour/ hour ban
Twice within 24 hours/ hour ban*
three times within 2 hours/ 24 hour ban
three times within 24 hours/ 2 hour ban*
Four times within 24 hours/ 3 day ban
Four times within a week/ 24 hour ban*
Five or more times within a week/ week ban
ban reset weekly
have three weeks in a row with more than 30 hours banned/ permanent ban.
it might be hard to do and track but seems fair.
*Also bans stack. So if you quit twice within a hour it would be two hour ban. If you came back and quit again your ban time doesn’t count so you would have three within 2 hours giving you another 26 hours to think about it. Then if you came back the next day and quit again you would have four days off. Then if you happen to still have time that week to play again and quit, you’re on a weeks vacation from multiplayer. So you could still quit once every other day and not get banned until you hit your fourth, then you would get 24 hour ban.
If you have any questions lmk. It’s strict but allows some flexibility for those times you just have to go without notice, but harsh enough for constant quitters.
Also I don’t think I have played a single BTB without people quitting. Every game ends with at least one partial team. And nearly half of Assault as well.

should use CSGO system, a single quit = ban

that would be fine if there was a casual playlist with relaxed ban rules. Some time life happens in the middle of your game.

Totally agree. The quitters are just completely draining the enjoyment of the game - I can barely get 2 consequtive games without quitters, and the other night I went 8 games in a row with quitters. Its so blatantly obvious that the penalties are not harsh enough, becuase if they were harsh enough they would be deterring quitters. To give you an idea of how weak the penalties are, someone came on these forums the other day complaining about “server stability” resulting in a few disconnects, which got thema ban. In reality, this person’s service record showerd 26 out the last 50 games they had DNF. And the penalty that caused the person to come to the forums to complain? A 30 minute ban. 30 minutes. That person had ruined 26*12 minutes of other peoples playtime, but was only punished with 30 minutes of downtime. Its just not enough. You can literally quit more than half your games it seems, and all you will get is a “ban” that gives you enough time to grab coffee and lunch and be back playing again.

Anyone here who also hates quitters, and wants to play with someone who doeasn’t quit, please send me an invite. I don’t care about mics, or k/d, or whatever - if you hate quitters I’d be happy to play on your team!

Jip should be on in BTB, it was to begin with, they just need to make it so players jip on a team that can’t win do not record a loss, quitting will never go away.

I don’t see the point in adding a quit ban until they fix the ranking system, add more playlists, and add a veto system. Eliminate the reasoning behind quitting otherwise people are just going to stop caring about the game altogether.

Agreed. Too many people quit when they merely see a slight disadvantage to their team. Takes all the fun out of playing when you’re two against four.

Well the fact that my console lost connection to the servers twice today…Makes me not want that

Quit bans are not a deterrent
All imposing very harsh quit bands will do is cause players who recieve said bans to simply go play other games and not come back to halo
There are still way way too many peopl (especially after the 6gig update) who are reporting serious conectivity issues and server disconnects for these to be put in place

I agree, I lost connection yesterday, I’m fortunate in that it was the first since release week, but yes, if those are deemed quits it’s worrying, I expect they’ll have a way or telling, for example, a quitter starts switching off the router instead of quitting there will be an obvious pattern, equally, if you lose connection to Halo but the console remains online there must be info they use there too.

This would kill the game almost immediately. The answer to quitting is not punishing players, it is improving the experience players are having, and rewarding players for sticking out rough losses. It really is that simple, and I believe a game developer will eventually figure this the hell out before we’re all dead and gone. Might be another 40-50 years, but someday one will finally get it through their heads.

I’m pretty sure 343 should introduce a social arena playlist section which has JIP and casual Modes. Most quitters (myself sadly included) would prefer to play here and the risks of actually meeting a quitter in ranked gametypes should be greatly reduced at the cost of longer matchmaking times.

After every hour of gameplay, the amount of quits you made should tally up.

If an hour has passed and you’ve quit -

2 times = 1 hour ban.
3 times or more = 24 hour ban.

This should not include lagging out/disconnects. There should be something that can detect if you’ve gone out through the dashboard.

I doubt people would be willing to switch off the modem after every game, or at least most people.
