I agree it should be working I’m certainly not saying that, I think if 343 just came out on the hour every hour and just explained what they’d been doing the past hour and giving any progress in identifying the problem would pacify a lot of people. As it stands people are just in the dark and just getting angry which is understandable, So 343 take a bit of advice and just do a brief hourly update it would take you minutes and it will calm a lot of people down surely thats worth it? And to be honest its the least you owe the community, good luck guys and I hope its up and running soon.

Exactly mate, more than anything I’m interested to know. Its like the game industry is so secretive with everything i think they bring a lot of this hate on themselves most of the time. if they were just more open it would help, Phil Spencer has been great for xbox with regards to this

Yeah I’ve just seen that but its kind of hidden away and with all the replies in that thread you don’t know there’s been an official update, they should have wrote that in one of the locked threads so it showed up as being updates recently instead of 18 hours ago, you seen any difference in the game since that server update? It says 5PM PST is 1AM GMT and its 1:27am GMT here so you would assume its live

I concur with the regular 1-hour updates on progress, I hate being in the dark because right now i’m sitting here waiting for a match. If I knew they were going to need more than a few hours to fix itI would g to sleep or eat or maybe even exercise.

Uh you should probably just do those things. It might be a good week before they iron out the problems with the server farms.
I work with virtualized environments and servers and this stuff can take easily a week, especially if the people are sleep deprived. Keep in mind I think the (potential) bigger issue is the possible complete lack of dedicated servers right now. So once MM gets started the dedicated servers might not even be functional and players might still be hosting. That’s a wild guess though, based on what I’ve seen in game.
Without knowing the architecture, I’m guessing there are some massive things going on in the background. Databases to store stats, the game-hosting dedicated servers, the matchmaking servers, probably some servers delivering the UI to users, all working in concert.

lmao. their “updates” mean absolutely nothing at this point. it’s almost like hearing an athlete give a post-game interview, same generic garbage over and over.
Jesus what is going on with xbox live recently? normally its rock solid yet it seems every other day there’s some issue with the social and matchmaking side of things. I hope they find the fix soon that gets it back on track rather than these temporary band -Yoink!-

I wish they would just take the entire Xbox Live down and seriously fix this -Yoink-. I bought the CoD AW bundle and there has not been a single day without a issues somewhere or another. First it was even redeeming the AW game code, then it was the download errors, then more download errors with Halo and then now even playing Halo.
