Anyone know if more ranks will be available with the TU? I’m surprised how quickly I reached 130 without any double XP codes or using the Pioneer skill. And this is with nearly all of my matches coming from War Games.
Even though I was an early Inheritor in Reach it took FOREVER to get that haunted helm. As more an more people reach Lvl 130 in 3-8 weeks then what’s the point of doing challenges? I still play for fun but at least earning XP towards ranks added another dimension to the game.
Basically, if you’re going to offer XP ranking then there should be a long view for keeping them in play. Either make it more challenging to achieve higher ranks (e.g. tie objectives to them) or increase the amount of XP it takes to rank up.
Before the game was released, many of us said the life of this game would be only a few months. It’s amazing that people have already reached SR-130.
There won’t be new ranks. There’s no reason for them. 343i already made their money.

Not surprising once you hit Level 50 with the new specs. Each spec is just 9 ranks and none of them build on the previous ones. You can get through the first 4-5 ranks of each spec very quickly especially when you do the challenges.
Obviously they wanted to carry the tradition from Reach but at least with Reach every subsequent ranks required more XP to level up. Here’s it’s just rinse and repeat with each spec.
I don’t even bother checking the challenges now since XP doesn’t do squat. Waiting for the skill ranking system in January but those who aren’t won’t have much to strive for once they hit 130.
I’m already at SR117, same deal, no double xp or perk to help me. I probably wouldn’t be this high a rank if it wasn’t for the Xbox Live Rewards Challenge, playing 140 hours of Halo 4 and Spartan Ops. I kinda don’t care about the skill ranks as much but I agree with you. What is the point of playing if I’ve reached the highest rank. At least allow me to do a prestige thing to keep the game interesting.
I should probably screen cap that rank before I level up. Because it’s Master Chief’s number
There are rumors that they may add to the Levels, and it is possible that they will once the community as a whole reaches a certain point.
Theres more to playing than just Leveling up, they made the levels easier for people who dont play as often as some to level up more quickly.
Most of us who actually started out playing Halo CE are in our late 20’s and above now, meaning we generally have alot to deal with in our lives and dont game as often.
