potentially bringing in more races, besides spartans. potentially elites, but more preferrably Brute for once in a halo? it would be a fine addition to the games offering more diversity among players.

Spartans aren’t a race… They’re human. Do you mean you would like different species?
Playing as a brute would be cool but impractical. Imagine trying to rationalize having one team being super easy to hit in multiplayer…
I personally think it would be fine. Game Design is all about balancing things out. If you watch people play multiplayer. I have seen many many times where a grenade or shot should have killed someone. Just how it is… Plus I would love more of a challenge playing an Elite or Brute where I can get hit more easily fighting a human character. Otherwise why have Elites or Brutes or different races fighting Chief in the campaign? See the point? Why have any of it. When it would be " on " unfair.

For match making I agree. But if it could be done without too much effort, even if it weren’t perfect, I wouldn’t mind it for custom games. Maybe that’s the thing for the PC crowds and modders though. IDK.
