More powerful grenades not less

Longer respawns could disrupt the ability to fight agains vehicles, talking about Dynamo specifically. But yeah, limiting nades to just two, so replacing frags with whatever you’re picking up, would be s good move to reduce nade spamming.

Desync doesn’t help either. You never know when your grenade is going to disappear into that black hole.

Did they weaken Dynamo grenades with the winter update? Used to toss two at groups of people and could usually get a kill out of it, heavily crippling the rest. But now it seems highly unlikely to kill anyone even if you toss multiple.

Last couple games I’ve noticed this, to the point I don’t toss them together and generally use primarily to disable vehicles to then toss whatever my secondary grenades are to finish them. Which is usually frags or stickies.

I’m honestly happy with this too if they did. Because Dynamo are the easiest grenades to use.

Not to my knowledge. I still get some kills with them and haven’t noticed any real change.

No way should grenades be more powerful! This update in decreasing grenade radius damage will make having two grenades more traditional Halo play. Plus the melee, grenade button function will become a touch less effective in trading kills.

they should just turn all explosion animations to look like an oreo getting dunked in milk. Simple fix right

Yo what? I didn’t know that. That’s weird. That might be why my grenades are so off so often. D:<

Thanks for telling me.

The fix to grenades is easy. High damage, lower bounce physics to make them feel heavier and closer to Halo: CE-3, and remove grenade magnetism altogether.

You got to have grenades stick. I mean that is uniquely Halo.

There is a massive difference between “stick” and having a grenade stop mid-air and fall on you. Or follow you around a corner at 90 degrees.

I thought by “magnetism” you meant the stick aspect. I’ve seen a few ppl complain about this grenade following them, but I’ll be honest I hardly ever get killed with grenades so I’m surprised to see ppl express this problem. I think grenades are about the only way to turn the tables on someone who gets the drop on you. If they get more de powered then even grenades won’t help and the game becomes a game of camping and slowly stalking players.

You’re lucky. I get killed by them more than by weapons. And they will straight up track me around cover all the time. It’s extremely annoying.

Haven’t played in a while.

Is the coding of the Dynamo Grenades still mixed into the Frag Grenade coding, causing them to bounce towards enemy players rather than bounce where you directed them to?

Honestly dynamo grenades are a mystery to me. I toss them and sometimes it feels like they do nothing and I should have spent my time shooting instead of wasting the attack on the throw and sometimes it will destroy a team with a good throw. I don’t know why there is such a difference. The bounce is different from the frag though. The frag is really designed to ricochet off of corners and the ground.

Yes, but the Frags unfortunately have a tendancy to bounce towards the enemy target rather than follow actual physics and bounce based on the direction of the throw.
Essentially it is as if the game is trying to mix the bouncing pattern of Dynamo Grenades that are supposed to try and bounce towards enemy players with some homing code and the bounce physics of the Frag Grenades, which results in a grenade that once it bounces, it tries to lean towards the nearest target rather than continue on a logical vector based on how it hit a surface.

Test it out with some friends and see.
Toss a grenade straight ahead so that it should bounce off the ground and continue straight ahead, but have one of your friends be on the enemy team and standing off to the side. Basically bounce the grenade straight down a hallway and have an enemy standing in the doorway to the left or right.
Watch as the grenade suddenly decelerates upon bouncing and changes from moving straight ahead to suddenly trying to curve towards the enemy player.

My current theory is that either the Dynamo Grenade code is mixed with the Frag Grenade code by an accident of oversight.
Or
That the devs decided to make the traditional Frag Grenades turn into Smart Grenades of a sort by essentially giving them a magnetism effect towards enemy players and vehicles, essentially making it easier to get frag kills as the bouncing was now less random and always trying to be in your favor.

I’ve actually witnessed grenades track myself and teammates. Like there’s aim assist almost.

I’ve seen footage of that myself. It’s really weird.

me neither. XD Ohhhh this should be… uuuuggggghhhh…

ANYway. I agree with OP. Make grenades more powerful. Also, start with 1 each, not 2, and make nades a single pickup per pad.

i’ve tested this. it’s not that they’re tracking you, it’s that they don’t roll straight. there’s a 1/3 chance of turn left, 1/3 right, and 1/3 mid, so it FEELS like it’s chasing you sometimes, but it’s not.

Uh, I don’t know why but it doesn’t seem to be working anymore? Just did it recently and it all looks the same now and I’m left confused. Im not sure if I’m doing it right though since I haven’t played in a while.
