More ordnance options

So Halo 4 personal ordnance consisted of two basic options- you can get a weapon or a power up.

In halo 5 I would like to see a much wider variety of options available. Such as…

-calling in a few ODSTs to help you fight, like they do in the campaign. Any kills they score count as yours,

  • having a phantom swoop in and lay fire down on an area. Again like the campaign.

  • targeting an area of the map with a MAC strike, obliterating any enemies if hits.

  • allowing vehicals or shade turrets to be brought in.

A few ideas, but yea in halo 5 ordnance should be more varied than a gun or a power up, am I right?

No. This if anything belongs in Firefight or SpOps. It’s like you’re ripping all these concepts from CoD or BattleField and adding a Halo skin to them.

E.g., a phantom gunship strike is essentially ordering a Hind to come in like in CoD.

Or your MAC strike, which is more or less like an ODIN or K.E.M. strike from Ghosts.

None of this makes ordnance better. It makes it frustrating.

Troll factor just jumped over 9000!

Sammy please tell me you are joking. The last thing we need is to take ordnance drops and make them even more powerful. Every time you make a thread i feel like you shouldn’t be playing halo in the first place and should be playing battlefield or cod.

You want killstreaks? Go play CoD.

If they did this in Halo 5 I wouldn’t end up returning it to the store…I never would’ve bothered buying it in the first place.

There are other factors to be focused on, not adding more chaos and randomness to multiplayer.

A thousand no’s, Sammy.

A million.

My reaction to these suggestions.

So halo can’t even bring elements from its own campaign and universe into multiplayer that it has been doing LONG before cod out of some totally irrational fear of “copying”?

What a joke.

You really need people to explain this to you again? Really?

He won’t listen.

It’s not a joke. It’s balance, not randomness. COD is diff and can support this due to the fact your always basically a one shot kill anyways, be it a pistol or a missile.

> Sammy please tell me you are joking. The last thing we need is to take ordnance drops and make them even more powerful. Every time you make a thread i feel like you shouldn’t be playing halo in the first place and should be playing battlefield or cod.

Not nessesarily more powerful, just more varied. This will open up a wider array of strategy.

Example I could call in the phantom to watch over a portion of the map as my team and I seized static spawns in the area and set up in a powerful position. An excellent play.

And no I’m not joking.

> Not nessesarily more powerful, just more varied.

So a mac cannon shot obliterating part of the map isn’t more powerful?

> Example I could call in the phantom to watch over a portion of the map as my team and I seized static spawns in the area and set up in a powerful position. An excellent play.

No, it’ not an excellent play. An excellent play would be if your team was able to set up a powerful position without the help of ordnance drops. Not a power position being handed to you on a silver platter because you got an ordnance drop.

> And no I’m not joking.

Than thats pretty sad.

Geeeeeeeeeeeeezus, no! I’m hoping, if anything, 343 take out random ordnance drop altogether from Halo 5, not add to them.

I totally enjoyed coming around a corner to a random guy who had rockets and his team mate who also had a power weapon, while I got speed boost or grenades…

sarcasm.

I think its important to note that Call of Duty’s MLG settings don’t allow Killstreaks. If the Loadout FPS giant knows this feature isn’t competitive, then I think that speaks volumes. It is common sense that adding things like Killstreaks would be negative (and PODs are a testament to that).

Just practice that one a bit more man no worries.

It is easy to dance around and take down a rocket launcher guy when speed boosted.

> Troll factor just jumped over 9000!

Over 9000 :’)

Sorry but i have to agree with the majority here. Why would you take the most hated element of Halo 4’s MP, and add more things to it, thereby making it even more hated than previously possible? Do you honestly want to kill the Halo population once and for all?

> Just practice that one a bit more man no worries.

> It is easy to dance around and take down a rocket launcher guy when speed boosted.

The problem (or at least one of them) is that he would have NO IDEA his opponent had a Rocket Launcher dropped to him/her until they saw each other! Then there’s the possibility that he doesn’t have Speed Boost AND the possibility that his opponent simply camped with a Shotgun/used the Rockets that spawn on the map to earn that ordnance!

They dont need any more options in Ordinance…if they’re going to keep Infinity Slayer they need bigger maps with more vehicles (for social playlist)

Im banking on a Ranked playlist more akin to Halo 2 and 3.

Sounds like a cool idea. Phantoms swooping in, ODST AIs, etc. would all make for a really epic battle. But it would also make for an incredibly noncompetitive game, and therefore would lack replay value. “Cool stuff” is cool, but ultimately meaningless.
