Do you think the Marines in Halo 4 will be more multi-cultural?
They’ve mostly always been white American in the past Halo games and I just hope 343 have added more realism in Halo 4 by making them multi-cultural.
By that I mean, Muslims, Chinese, Spanish marines instead of just white Americans ones.
I hope they’ve done this as it’d be a nice subtle change, would you appreciate it if 343 did this?
Is it me… Or is there a big thing with Australian accents in Halo?
I don’t want to seem racist, but honestly, I don’t think it’d be a subtle change. Whenever they do stuff like that, they always seem out of place. I think 343 was more focused on making sure the game played just right rather than if they had multi-cultural Marines.

Well you are, and it IS the United Nations Space Command so I expect the Marines to be of all colors and shapes.
There have been Spanish and Australian marines in almost all previous Halos, plus we had Sergeant Johnson who was black, Lord Hood who was British noble ancestry IIRC, Kat and Jun who were of eastern european decent, and we have spent 3 games fighting in a futuristic African metropolis. I’d say Halo isn’t all white americans.
But yes, there would be nothing wrong with having additional cultures in Halo. It wouldn’t surprise me if Halo 4 featured some.
That would be cool although i think that there are other significant priorities that should be met before making multi cultural marines

They’ve mostly seem American-Latino if you know what I mean.
If we had Marines of different color or more accents then cool.

Sorry, but I’m just giving my honest opinion. I’m not gonna complain if the Marines aren’t all white, I just think 343 had bigger priorities than making Marines for every single race.
Well, in this picture there’s a black Marine with a special suit on, so there might be more cultural people in the game. It’ll make it seem more realistic.

I love the Australian sounding Marines.
Marines are diverse enough for me, but it doesn’t hurt to add more

What’s wrong with American-Latino? So you want marines to actually be from Spain? I doubt 343 is going to hire voice actors from every european country just so they can say they included all races and cultures. A realistic portrayal of the UNSC is one thing but at some point it just becomes impractical from a game development and story telling standpoint.
Have you ever played any of the Halo games?
Agreed, the marines needs more individuality.
Interesting tidbit: when playing Silent Cartographer on Legendary, instead of the Sergeant, there will be an Asian marine seated next to you.
I want to see the AI gunners raise their fist and do a yeehaw when getting sufficient height in the Hog. It was in CE but was removed for no apparent reason in Halo 2 and subsequent games. It’d be a pretty good achievement indicator for the Midnight Launch achievement…

I don’t think you can tell from that?
Personally I don’t care what they do with the marines as long as they aren’t “dumb” mechanic wise.

muslims is not a race. islam is a religion. did you mean persians and arabs? anyway, by that far in the future humanity should have very little “full blooded” racial types we are familiar with today, like 100% chinese or something.
tons of people marry or have babies w/ other “races” so “mixed” i think is the future. actually seeing as white people have so many recessive traits, there should be way less whites and lots of vaguely brown people in a multi-planetary human society
i kind of miss the marines from halo 2, they were pretty diverse.
