More Mech Vehicles and how they could work.

I understand that there are people who would rather there be no mechs. While i respect their option… I dont care cuz I want em.

The Mechs that i want in are The Grunt Goblin, The locust, The Cyclops, and The Hrunting/yggdrasil suit.

The Goblin would play about the same as it does in warzone but heavily nerfed.
Its armor would be about as good as the Wraith. Shooting it’s backpack would take 25% more damage and it would have an energy faceplate that can be downed with two direct overcharged plasma pistol shot hits. The pilot can then be targeted.
It is very slow moving but it can jump around 8 meters in the air and do a thrusting melee.
Its weapons would be either the Focus cannon and plasma launcher or mega needler and needle launcher. The plasma launcher and needle launcher will no longer track all targets around it but the pilot will have to self target like the Mantis. They will also only target vehicles. A more powerful variant could probably target everything.

The Locust will be something of an equivalent to the scorpion, a slow moving, slow turning, ranged tank.
It will have basically the same armor and shielding as the mantis, maybe more shielding and less armor.
Its movement speed would also be about the same as the mantis, though it will be able to climb large rocks and rocky hills much better.
Its weapons will be the focus beam its damage will be half the Phaeton Helios’ cleansing beam but will take 4x as long to overheat. The beam could also leech shields off other shielded vehicle’s, not increasing its shield strength but recharging it if its low. The shielding it would get is half the damage it deals to a shield.

The Cyclops would be a somewhat of a faster, nimbler, and weaker Goblin.
Its movement speed will be about the same as a ghost. It can jump 3 meters and sprint 50% faster than its normal run.
Its armor will the same as a warthog and its glass canopy can be shot off with 3 sniper shots and you can then shoot the pilot directly.
It will be armed with auto-cannon. I will have the same fire rate as the sniper rifle and do the same damage as a fuel rod cannon. It can also do a downward punch.

The Hrunting/yggdrasil is the spartan equivalent to the hulkbuster suit. It bigger, faster, stronger, tougher, and holds better weapons than a normal spartan. It will be about 8.5 feet tall.
It will move 80% the speed of the Ghost and sprint at 70% the ghosts boost speed. It can jump 3 meters and can thrust in any directions twice before recharging.
Its shield and armor strength will be somewhere in between the wasp and banshee maybe slightly more than both. It will take double damage from precision headshots on armor only.
It will be equipped with a heavy machine gun on its right arm and either a hydra launcher or a railgun on its shoulder, or it could have both and you can switch between them with the weapon or grenade swap button. It will also be able to do a melee that does the same damage as a spartan charge.

One thing that would have to be changed is the door height because if you could go anywhere with a grunt goblin it would be a little annoying having those jumping around inside a base as they would be very annoying to kill

The Grunt Goblin Is too big for most Doors. The only one it can fit in are ones that most vehicles can fit in or at least a crouched Mantis can fit in. The Goblin is about 14 feet tall. It isn’t small. Also Most MP Bases that are use for CTF can only get a mongooses or maybe a ghost inside unless they have some kind of large vehicle garage.
The only Vehicle on this list that could potentially fit and Doors a ghost could is the Hrunting/yggdrasil suit.

I’d like a gametype of 2 player controlled Hunters vs everyone else

All of these except for the Goblin sound great, mostly because I have no idea how a Spartan could pilot a Goblin when its interior is designed for a 5 foot tall-ish Unggoy rather than a 7 foot tall armored Spartan. The idea of a Spartan just sticking two feet out of the driver’s seat is hilarious and insanely bad if you want to keep your head from snipers.
Relatedly for the Cyclops, Im not sure how you could just climb into it like you can any other Halo vehicle since its literally a suit you WEAR (through a neural-synapse link). Its got more in common with MJLONIR than the Mantis.
The Hrrunting/Ygdrissal could work but…it would have to be some sort of external applicate armor, because again, its more similar to MJLONIR than it is anything else.
The Locust is just fine. You climb into it and lay down like your piloting a Banshee.

I’m thinking of a locust with long range beam weapon and big bubble like shield that could work as cover for ground troops but would also make it a bigger target.

DUDE! I’ve wanted the see the Prototype/Hrunting exosuit in a Halo game since I first watched Legends! What you have suggested for it’s stats is good, but I think you could buff it a bit (give it a better secondary weapon (railgun/Hydra) seems weak for that thing)) and balance it out by giving it a timer (like in the episode). Then you could have it work as an aggressive anti-vehicle unit (Halo:Reach Revenant on roids, basically). Otherwise I would see people just camping with it.

As Sun Tzu once said, “the more mechs, the better”, but yeah I don’t see the Goblin working without first redesigning the thing so it can fit a Spartan inside at which point it is no longer a Grunt Goblin but a Covenant Goblin (what is stopping an Elite using it, other than the shame of having the use a vehicle shaped like a Grunt?).

I think you underestimating the amount of mass the Grunts have in armor. Yes they are shorter by a few feet but they take up about the same amount of space as a fully armored spartan. Evidence. Look at a simy Crouched Spartan next to grunts. Not that much different in overall mass. Look at a Grunt in a Ghost compared to a Spartan in a ghost. Look at the size of the Goblin and The fact that The Grunt’s backpack takes up the most space in the cockpit.

The Cyclops isn’t a suit you wear. You pilot it like a Mantis. To get in to it the cockpit canopy would open and you would climb into it. Mega Bloks show this. Granted Mega Bloks have weird proportions but the idea is the same.

As shown form early version of the Mantis Hrunting/yggdrasil would just wrap around the Spartans armor. I’d say it would open up similar to the Power armor in fallout 4.

I just want to drive a grunt goblin. Maybe in a mix between warzone and invasion

Works for me

The reason I thought the Railgun and Hydra would be good secondary weapon is. 1. they would have infinite ammo because vehicle. 2. They wouldn’t need to reload, though the Hydra would only be able to shoot 6 shots at a time and the Railgun does have charge time. 3. i didn’t want this be be a a small super fast Mantis. It would still be a good anti vehicle unit i just don’t think it should have the fire power of a Mantis or a tank when its no bigger than a Ghost or a Wasp. I think giving it a timer would be a little frustrating for people and it would be the only vehicle in the game that did that so I don’t see the point.

You would need some balance changes to get that to work lol

Upon further thought, the timer thing could be a bit annoying, yes. Unless you make the Prototype the centerpiece of a new game mode where the two team fight for control over it. Kinda like King of the Hill, only when you capture the hill it starts shooting people. Then when the timer runs out (or the exosuit gets heavily damaged) the player controlling it gets ejected and the whole cycle begins anew. Either way, I just want to see the thing in-game in one form or another.
