do you reckon 343 will stop at the castle map pack or do you think theyll keep em comming and maybe add another season pass for the next lot?
if they do then i have no doubt theyll add the hornet to at least one map!!
the reason i ask this i because to stop the map packs after 7 months i think after release is kinda brave and all the population will go down quickly i think, i just dont get how reach only had 3 map packs, so far H4 if they stop at this one will have 3 map packs and yet H3 had 5 i think including the single free map, so there basicaly going back from H3
Halo Reach only got three map packs but technically the Anniversary Map Pack was two in one, considering that a map pack comes with three maps and Anniversary came with seven. I’m actually still hoping we get a Halo 2 Anniversary which in theory would also come with classic Halo 2 maps for Halo 4.

One has to wonder how well the classic maps would translate with Halo 4’s settings, forced Sprint especially.

I suppose that depends on the map.

I have some really good remakes of The Pit, Tombstone, Sanctuary, and Guardian that all play surprisingly well even with AAs and sprint. “Mimik” is an AGL map that blends The Pit and Sanctuary with little bits of Zealot and Foundation into a larger competitive map that works pretty well in this game and isn’t broken too much by sprint or DMRs. “Stigma” is a really cool blend of Guardian, Lockout and The Cage that plays great in this game. “Edifice” is an awesome classic inspired map that reminds me of an asymmetric Sanctuary/Lockout hybrid with some of Reach’s Powerhouse map thrown in that plays FFA and doubles/triples VERY well, especially oddball and KOTH. “Vex” is a BTB map that reminds me of larger classics like Sidewinder, Timberland and little bits of Coagulation and Construct and feels FANTASTIC to play with sprint/jetpacks/other AAs and a good blend of vehicles and infantry combat.
Anniversary BTB proved to me that classic designs that were truly great still hold up even with added sandbox elements like sprinting and AAs. Ridgeline and Breakneck felt just as good to play in Reach as Timberland and Headlong did back on CE and H2 to me, and Tempest reminded me a lot of Valhalla and Standoff. Good maps are good maps, gimmicks or not. The “Reflection” remake of Ivory Tower did a good job of that in Reach, Countdown reminded me of Construct and Foundation blended, Sword Base (despite being ruined by the weapons and poor layout with the lifts) blended Boarding Action and Construct interestingly, and the 4v4 Anniversary maps showed that good maps were good maps, jetpack on Dammy/Prisoner aside.
oh yeah i forgot about those maps and did it realy come with 7 maps?!
i still hope they just bring out more map packs i didnt like it comming out on H|R if there going to do a map pack do 3 maps one from CE, H2 and H3, the communitys fav in each one instead of bringing back loads of maps from like on halo game
