As awesome as the Mantis is I feel like it looks to be a bit OP
Ok yeah, that seems somewhat OP. First 20 seconds of the video, it took a spartan laser shot like a boss. Hijacking seems to be its weakness and guess what I am good at doing

Then again it may have been poor laser placement. I’ve seen tanks in Halo 3 and Reach survive laser shots if its not aimed 100% on.
Oh right its a 1 month build, it may be balanced a bit now =D

We haven’t seen how well it takes damage from Warthog turrets or Banshee bombs. Spartan laser could have just hitted the strong part of the Mantis. And its main turret cannot be more powerfull than Warthogs turret and rockets take time to ready and fire.
Also it seemed to be slow (in one of the gameplay vids some dude praises how fast it is but it’s not) and EMP completely disables it (it’s very big so hitting it won’t be hard).
I don’t think it’s that OP.

I’m pretty sure teamwork, and a good solid arm can take down the mantis.

If the Mantis becomes too troublesome (even if it’s not as powerful in the final build) i can see players using plasma pistols in their loadouts a lot more in BTB.
It can move pretty fast but i doubt it can evade charged shots very well.

I don’t think it will be much of a problem as long as someone half decent on the team is holding a laser. Considering the sight lines on Ragnarok and the size of the Mantis, you only have to find cover behind your own base or rock and charge up twice. If you can’t use more than 1 charge with a laser in a life then don’t pick it up.
The Mantis just wreck players and tanks. But yes, hijacking does seem to be it’s weakness. If you come up from behind, I don’t think it can do much. Also, LOOK AT RAGNAROCK! The water, the grass! Beautiful…
