I remember Halo 4 and how chief killed the didact, you just had to press a series of buttons then he was dead. You then activated the point blank nuke, destroying the cryptum (or whatever ship he was on). In my little noob brain I thought that was badass and wanted to do it again, and even now I think it was still fun but anticlimactic. I would love to see more of these kinds of moments, just make it so they follow up a boss battle. The didact could’ve been such a fun boss to fight! I’m disappointed because the closet thing we’ve had to a boss since Tartarus was the scarabs which were relatively easy to beat. So please, 343 bring back boss battles. As previously stated I like to press a series of buttons afterward , finishing the boss off. I understand this would be hard to do because of spacing between the player and the boss but it would be cool to see something like that come back in my opinion.
So you want the return of Quick-Time sequences? Think it’ll just ruin the reputation of the game

There’s boss battles in warzone, but I get what you’re saying. We need Brute Chieftains back and add the Grunt Goblins in campaign.
343 guilty spark in halo 3 was kind of a boss battle…
i’m unsure of quick time events like the didact “fight” in h4. i don’t really think these are needed in a shooter, bc we have fighting mechanics. QTE are (more or less) cutscenes where you have to press a button, so the game can continue. sure, it makes the game (cutscene) feel more interactive, but you don’t really have a 2nd option to one button press (or a combo). this maybe even take away the focus on the cutscene, bc you focus on pressing the right button and not on what is happening. not also QTEs are (what i hear) annoying to many people.
there are games where QTEs can work, but i don’t think shooters are one of them
Definitely no to QTE:s in Halo. Its just everywhere in FPS’ today and its so overused with the usual over the top action or just slowly crawling to the end. And its just really out of place in Halo.
And there could be some boss battles in Halo but Halo is not that good of a platform for boss battles alltogether it supposedly being sci-fi military shooter (or it used to be before). The usual characters cant bee too overpowered on foot, that would make them just boring bullet sponges which just looks stupid when you shoot something dozens of times to the head.
The scarabs were rather interesting fights with variable strategies to aerial, vehicular and on foot variables having different sorts of heavy weapons, boarding action and such strategies while also being moving target. The vehicles can be good bosses but its not so usual to see something entirely different forcing player to perhaps change strategies.
Other things could be allowing player to use vehicles or spaceships even in some parts of the game with larger boss encounters.
