More info on random weapon drops

I dont know if this was posted yet, but just in case it wasnt:

Frankie posted on neoGAF clarifying a bit further that they will not be random as we think…

i wonder though, how this will work…

sniper spawn a, b, c…a time is 1:30, b time is 2:00, c time is 2:30…so the game would start at c at 12:00…a comes up at 10:30, b comes up at 8:30, c comes up at 6:00?

something like that maybe might be really interesting…

yeah, hopefully more info will come out of the podcast and stuff…not comfortable with all these changes, but i want to wait till all the facts are clear before loving/hating them.

Same here, Untill all facts and what not are 100% clear I’m not going to really hate or overly love any ideas just yet.

btw, has there been any news about when that is coming out?

So it doesn’t sound as ret­arded as it first seemed but since the main thing we’ve got to go on is it’s designed “to lessen the advantage experienced players have over newer players” I still have no faith in it.

well, it seems like this is rewarding. harder to learn, but advantageous still.

also, @o0MrCheesy0o…all weapons are available normally in the sandbox. no unlocking for weapons. frankie confirmed it and i posted it a day or so ago.

Yes! Hopefully we can listen soon! I’m all ears for this info. also, I’m very happy to hear about the extra info on weapon drops, so thanks for that. While I am very interested in these new weapon drops, and how they work, we all worried for the chance that they would be messy and random. Franky calms this fact with much of what he says about it, but that concerns me too.

The chief reasoning when mentioning the Weapon Drops was that new players wouldn’t be disadvantaged against more experienced players, which in some sense infuriated many of us because good players shouldn’t be punished for being good, new players should seek to up the ante or settle for being lesser. However, with more and more info coming out and more being pointed in the direction that it is indeed not “random”, how does help the goal they set out to accomplish in the first place?

Sure, I’m glad they’re more predictable (whatever the hell that means), however I don’t understand what they’re trying to do here. If it’s a more complicated system, that requires more effort in timing (which is what it seems like at this point) then it would seek to do the opposite of what it was intended to do- as stated by them.

Assuming of course that the drop system is even remotely complicated to begin with. It’s all so confusing, I wish we could just see the damn thing in action already.
