More Halo 5 Content?

Hello community!
Die-hard Halo fan here! I love Halo 5 multiplayer!

However, I noticed that all new content is purely for Halo Wars 2. Does this mean that all production on Halo 5 content has stopped? Could someone from 343 confirm this?

I really hope there is future Halo 5 content coming. It’s been a long time since the last content drop and the game feels a bit neglected.

Thanks everyone! Keep Halo-ing!

I hope there is more content for Halo 5 considering Halo 6 is bare minimum late 2018 (nothing confirmed yet).

I liked Halo Wars and everything, but the focus on it seems a bit misguided compared to Halo FPS.

There are often separate teams for maintain and development, I understand how it works at 343 (friend works there)…

But my question is, why isn’t there a fairly large team on Halo 5. REQs make a TON of money. Halo 5 was the most profitable Halo in the series history VERY early into its life, and it has much to do with REQs. More updates would make a lot of money (even over cost) and keep the Halo community together and strong.

I feel 343s leadership could be a little off base right now. Overall, love the games and love the series. Don’t get me wrong. Just feels like it’s fading (not to me, I love Halo today, but to the masses).

As awesome as the Summer playlist rotations may be, some new content would be a refreshing taste. I can smell at least one more before we move onto Halo 6.

Thanks for the replies!
It makes sense for there to be two (or three?) teams at 343i. I’m assuming there is one team on Halo Wars 2 and another one working on Halo 6; however, is there a third team still working on Halo 5? I would hope so, otherwise all we have is a maintenance and upkeep team keeping the servers alive.
I am not really criticizing leadership, but I am curious on whether all we will see for the next 12 months is Halo Wars. I love Halo, but Halo Wars is an appetizer. Halo Wars will never fully feel like a true Halo game.
Here’s to more Halo 5 content!

Can’t you ask your 343 friend to see if maybe they might know something.

Even if you have a friend who works at 343 they still have to keep their lips tight because that’s how rumors and false expectations come about, 343 will decide when to let the lid off of any new content, or there actually may not be anymore at all, Halo 5 as of now has as much as Halo 3/Reach in terms of content so I’m content. (although I would like a fan service kinda update, Falcon, Pelican, Spectra you get the idea)

A while ago, it was stated we will have one more content drop but it wasnt clear when.

Atm the majority of 343 are focused on Halo wars 2. Just sit tight.

If the friend works at 343, it wouldn’t be a rumor it would be truth…

No it would be rumor because his bosses could later change their mind on the plans, directing things in a different direction. Not to mention with the NDA’s they probably have to sign if this person was caught as a “leaker” it could cause him to lose his job. So better he stays with sealed lips to keep working on his job and future games, rather than babbling off half baked ideas to the community now causing him to be fired.

Anyways I would like to see a content drop for Halo 5. As much as I love Halo Wars 2, Halo 5 has started to feel a bit stale to me. I love all the stuff it has already, but it needs one last touch of “new” before it bows out for Halo 6 to take its place. Some new REQ weapons, armor, skins, or vehicles would really catch my eye. Maybe make Warzone Turbo a permanent playlist too or something like that.

Agreed, but do you know for a fact that 343 employees have to sign an NDA?

Not for sure, but it is pretty standard in the entertainment industry for people working on mass media projects to have some form of rules on them preventing them from going out and spoiling the entire project to the community. The fact we have heard so little news about Halo 6 definitely suggests that every employee on it is probably under some sort of NDA, waiting for the formal announcement before talking (E3 2018 or some sort of other game conference/press event Microsoft will have a presence at).

I think it has a little more than those games have, especially 3.

Or maybe because they haven’t even started in making Halo 6. They actually just started hiring people for it.

I doubt they have any big plans or big drops maybe a few little req drops or something but nothing big

I don’t know about that, I’m not counting req variants because lets be honest as much as I love this company anyone who is adept at programming could make some if not all of these weapon and vehicle variants, to be honest they remind me of fan made weapon variants in Halo Custom edition (not sure if we are allowed to talk about that game… er “m” word) which isn’t a bad thing as I do enjoy the tools of destruction they have provided us.

I hope they add warzone turbo as a permanent playlist

I am not really comparing with the other games. I am just saying that content drops have been pretty quiet since Halo Wars 2 started rolling out.

> I hope they add warzone turbo as a permanent playlist

I’ve noticed that Warzone Turbo is a playlist after they make changes to what’s being issued in REQ packs. For example, power-ups, like active camo used to be way more prevalent than they are now. This is also true of certain vehicles and weapons. My best guess is they’re trying to balance things out. So then they release Turbo to try to get people into that so they burn through their REQs.

So a permanent playlist? Maybe they’ll do that if fans want it, but I’d pretty sure the reason we’ve seen it appear at various times is due to the above.

I think it’s a bad sign that the 4th of July came and went and there wasn’t even so much as a message of the day about it, much less a holiday REQ pack. They’ve stated a Halo 3 themed update will arrive later this year, but if there is any content there, it will most surely be the last update.

After that we probably won’t see much from them before Halo 6 . . . . except for that whole Halo 3 Anniversary thing that they’re “not doing.” (lie)

A 4th of July emblem (AT THE VERY LEAST) would have been a nice touch…but no, nothing.
