This is supposedly a “Mature” game and I think a little more gore could really
make this game a more enjoyable experience. It doesn’t have to be like GOW or
something but a little brain matter in the air after a sniper shot to the dome
or a shotgun blast to the chest that tears off some armor exposing some flesh
would be epic.
Something else that could add a whole new dynamic and something I have been
wanting for a long time is destructible environments. A world that crumbles
around you would add a hell of a visual element not seen in the game but could
also play a huge role in gameplay and or in game strategy.
I think Halo should also be slightly more bloody - Halo 4 wasnt as bloody as previous Halos too IMO - especially in comparison to HALO: CE - You could practically paint walls with the blood of enemies and corpses!
…The gore? NO. Something about Halo is that it has NEVER been deserving of its “M” rating IMO. There’s a mod in Halo Custom Edition that has gore, and it just ruins the whole thing.
HOWEVER…
Map destruction? Chuck Norris approves! But the maps shouldn’t be TOTALLY destructible. Make it like the Jersey Barriers: Blow off chunks but not destroy it utterly, and that would be EPIC. TOTAL destruction is a Battlefield thing, and should stay that way. Battlefield has its things, and Halo has things of its own, and super destruction isn’t one of them.

Yeah I didn’t mean all out gore just some things they could do to make it better
and or more realistic. No blowing people heads clean off or anything. What about
if parts of your body get to damaged and you have to hobble around? Probably not lol.
And yeah not totally destructible maps pretty much just as you said.
Eh, gore is overrated IMHO. It was kind of fun to paint the walls with Sangheli blood like RipThanWinkle said, but that’s more a novelty than anything else. To me it’s just a gimmick - doesn’t take away from the game, doesn’t add to it.
As for map destruction, I’d rather they bring back interactive maps. Things which help you tactically. Remember dropping the windmill arm on Zanzibar, extending the bridge on Longshore, or opening the side door on Standoff? These are authentic Halo experiences which added a tactical element to slayer and especially objective games…
BUT if map destruction can accomplish the same then I’m all for it!

Indeed! I may be jumping the gun here because first and foremost the maps in the
new game need to be so much better than H4. Hell the best maps in H4 are made
by the community lol. That says a lot.
I don’t think more gore is necessary. It wouldn’t make the game better in any way. I’d like if there was something like holes in the spot where you shot an enemy/NPC/player, like with walls etc now, but that’s all.
As for destructable environments, heck yes! But not too destructable. Trees, small railings, glass, barricades and small/unsturdy items like those should be destroyable, but I don’t want buildings to collapse. A good feature in my opinion would be “destroyable terrain”. You shoot a rocket at a grassy hill, grass flies everywhere and there’s a hole in the hill. Not a very big or deep one, but you’d notice it. Once again it’d have to make sense: you shouldn’t be able to make a hole in starship battle plating or Forerunner metal. Also interactive maps would be great, too (like pulvis ira mentioned).
Here’s what I’d like: You get hit in the shoulder hard, then the shoulder plate gets blown off. Really low on health? Taking AR fire in the head? Visor cracks, a la Lone Wolf. That kind of stuff. That would be cool.

Stuff like the simple levelution features in BF4 which dont have all that much of an impact upon the map could be used. Like pressing buttons for bollades, roadside bombs on parts of the map where warthogs would travel etc. would work.

No game NEEDS it. Again Im not saying Spartans heads should be getting blown off
just a little more blood and such could add to the realism of it all.
I am definitely down for destructible maps. Blood and gore on the other hand…I would approve only if it is specifically in the campaign and Spartan Ops/Firefight.
I do prefer blood splatter and shield flares to hit markers as a visual indicator for weather or not your bullets hit but I don’t have any interest in gore for the sake of gore.
Destructible armour might be cool if it did something like indicate player health. And I’m down for semi destructible environments.

The level of blood in Halo is okay, it’s a fair amount for Halo.

Halo 2 had the right amount of gore. Brutes had cool destructible armour in Halo 3 and ODST. As for map destruction, it would be fantastic for Forge and Custom Games!
Honestly, I’ve never been a huge fan of extravagant gore, but Halo does need more. (I just rhymed!) I’d love to see your body damage idea make it in, and to add to it when someone shoots you while your shields are down I’d honestly like to see marks and holes where you’ve been hit/shot.
Like what happens to Romeo when he gets stabbed by the Gravity Hammer’s rear blade.
As for destructible maps, I’d say it’s highly dependent on the gametype. Although we should have that option made available to us through Forge/Custom games. It’d be nice to see a script option available on Forge pieces that allowed them to destruct.

I agree.
I also like your idea on how to make Forge piece destructible. I’m sure 343i could find a way yo make this work.
