Even though I don’t have Halo 4 yet, I noticed how Mark VI is the only GEN1 armor on Halo 4. I have been a fan of the MJOLNIR Mark V armor for quite some time now. So I had an idea today about 343 being able to include more GEN1 as DLC, to please the fans of the Bungie-era Halo games (Halo CE-Reach), such as myself.
A few old armors did return (Scout, Gungnir, Air Assault, recon, and EOD), thou I do wish there was more older armor like halo 3 rogue, ODST, and halo 3 flycon helmet
Indeed, like I said earlier, I’m a fan of the Mark V armor. As a matter of fact, I’m still trying to work up for it on Halo Reach, which I’m still a long way away.
I have a blog over on Destructoid and I was close to posting a blog about this very thing actually. I’m not overly fond of some of the newer armors in this game and I generally dont like the lack of some of the earlier Gen1 armors. I especially lament at the lack of the classic Mark V armor, which is still the best armor if you ask me.
I have a feeling more armors as DLC will probably be an impossibility. Assuming 343 built this game remotely close to what Bungie did, armor DLC is not likely.
Actually, DLC Armor is possible. Look at Halo Reach, for example, the bonus stuff (Legendary Flaming Helmet, Recon UA/HUL[3], and Multi-Threat) were DLC. I don’t have the Legendary Flaming Helmet, but the latter 2 I do have, which required entering a code to download them.

They are on everybody’s Halo Reach disc, the code just unlocked them.
I like the idea of DLC, but I dislike the idea of having to pay for helmets and armor we should have had from the start.
The idea of paying money for Mk V or ODST helmets just seems perverse to me.
Word.
The whole armor system is cool but the way that you have to unlock some of it is ridic.

Pretty sure they already said that they won’t be doing downloadable Armour sets.
Unless it’s unlockable I don’t see the point. We want unique armor pieces, right?
