Im getting sick off seeing more REQS and less maps and game types in every monthly update. I think we can all agree that we want more maps & game types cos that’s what the game needs to keep people playing. The only time when 343 should bring new REQS in to the game is when the game has all the content that was suppose to be there AT LAUNCH . Share your thoughts.
Pretty much all I do is Forge/Customs. Need Infection, King of the Hill, Race, and a lot of missing features to be restored. The next update is supposed to have a lot of Forge stuff, including new trees/foliage.
I am in the same boat. I have bought, with the in game money, a bunch of req packs and I am still missing a bunch of stuff. My friend tell me to drop the $100 and get the gold req bundle because they did it and got everything. I would do this but the problem is halo doesn’t seem worth that type of money. The last game that I played which I would be willing to drop that type of money would be Battle Field 4. They allowed you to unlock all the weapons ,which in my opinion, is very nice. They also charged you a small fee for other things. The season pass was hard to spring for but I felt like I got my money’s worth and then some. Halo 5 has made me question if I have even gotten a tenth of the money I payed for it, $60 USD. I bought the game brand new and have played through the campaign and now all I do is play online against people and occasionally hang out with friends. In the end I feel that Halo 5 is lacking a lot of content. Halo 3 was properly the last game which was the last game from the halo series which was properly balanced and had the best following. It was the peak of Halo. I am waiting to see though how Halo online goes because if I can get Halo for the PC and be able to play with people who are on the console, well then I wont be buying the next Xbox. Halo 5 needs a lot of bug fixes 'which I feel come from the game being rushed and the studio not giving a damn about the game. They pushed the game out without forge and now they are baiting us all in to constantly play for more reqs so we can 100% complete the game but we will never be able to.
They need reqs to pay for all the free stuff. Gametypes should be a higher priority though.
The ball update was really weak. Assault was not balanced at all, and no oddball.
New game types, correction of in game issues, and new maps will keep the population engaged. Cosmetic, like skins, armors, helmets, emblems will not.

Reqs bring in $. Game types do not.

Perfectly said. They pump out more REQs than we can unlock (unless you put a very large amount of time into the game), and i feel like they just design them to screw you over. They added in an update or two ago emblems, not just any emblems, but numbers. 1-12 each one an individual number. That is put into the REQ system. I bought the Arena REQ bundle and three times now, for $25, I’m getting a stupid number. You don’t think that’s something we should just, y’know, get? You couldn’t have given us something so basic? Or maybe you get number 1 for beating level 1, etc. It’s obvious they’re designing it to leech your time, and therefore the fun factor is completely evaporating. Don’t even get me started on how Warzone was obviously designed after the REQ system.
Gametypes is what we’ve been asking for. You see a hundred threads on everything Halo asking for Infection and Oddball since the game came out. Those have stopped mainly because those people were finally true to their word when they said “if it doesn’t come out next update I’m going to stop playing,” and sure enough, the population keeps sinking. They keep throwing REQs at us, but all it does is make us want to play less or play it the same we already do. It doesn’t add any initiative, fun, motivation, anything at all. I try to get my friend to play with me and I tell him I’m trying to get Fotus and all he says is “Still?” There’s no progression, just RNG, which isn’t fun. You know what is fun? Oddball. Infection. Griffball. Race. Custom Games. Not saying Arena can’t be fun, but it isn’t nearly as fun as the other elements of the Halo series which has been stripped away.

Not necessarily, warzone turbo. Reqs and games types go hand in hand. All the reqs in the world will not make money if the population is bored and has moved on.
People are still gonna complain when it comes anyway, because it wasn’t here at launch.
They can add all the “missing” gametypes tomorrow, and people would be all “Why wasn’t it here at launch?! We want answers!”
It’s my halo and I want it now!

Because it still should have been there at launch? If you advertise a Halo game, and when we spend $60 on it and only have 75% of a game, where half of it (Campaign) is garbage, we have more than a write to complain. If we don’t, they’ll continue screwing us over and over and over. Doesn’t matter if it’s free, I still shouldn’t have to wait 4 months for something like Griffball, or 2 months for Forge.

Because they should have been at launch. This shouldn’t happen again for halo 6, that’s why everyone complains, and it shouldn’t have even happened for halo 5.
I agree that more meaningful content is what this game needs, but as I’ve said before many, many times, the two things are completely unrelated. They aren’t going to take people who’s JOB it is to make REQ items off of that work and get them working on game modes or maps. Those things (maps/playlists/modes) take a lot of time and play-testing to build and balance. A weapon skin does not. That’s why we get more skins and armors and less maps and modes. That’s just the way it works.
new REQ = wasted time
I walked away and haven’t touched the game (talking MP and only played a bit of campaign after I got my Elite controller) since BTB. The only thing that even half entices me to come back is WZFF.
They can stack piles of eye candy to the ceiling and package them up in cute little cosmetic “packs” if they want, but I have not and will not waste a single dime on it. I want more than just one or two modes that are worth playing before I give a -yoink- how good I look playing them.
How about less emblems? I can’t get any of the new cosmetic REQs with stuff like “number 1 emblem” “number 2 emblem” “number 3 emblem” and so on and so on, drowning out everything else
This patch does have less reqs… But no confirmation of any new gametypes except for Firefight… Would like some classic Halo gametypes right about now. Which we are not gonna get until summer.
