So I was watching Forge Labs on youtube and as Shaun was scrolling through the FX, I saw the red and blue Forerunnner bugs and it triggered a memory. I remembered playing Metroid Prime on my gamecube and just the feeling of awe when I stepped onto Tallon IV and saw this developed alien “rainforest”. My idea was for more truly alien flora as placeable scenery in forge, like the plants you see on Genesis in campaign. The stuff we have now is great, but it lacks that alien element and feels too familiar without some extensive work with coloring and tweaking. Maybe even some more reasonable fauna as well, like tiny insects crawling across the ground or those crab things on Genesis, maybe some of the flying creatures that just swoop by very quickly, or a school of alien fish to put inside of aquariums or for underwater maps. Anything to help make more exotic and “alien” looking maps, to take a small step away from the more terrestrial look of the current flora we have access to.
What do you all think? Also feel free to use this as a springboard for your own ideas for placable objects in Forge.
I would like a wider variety of logs personally. Like tree logs. Really big and small
Phantom and spirit props would be dope. More set piece props in general would be neat.
Flood biomass pieces would be pretty sick too. Or maybe make a canvas with a Flood pallet so you dont have to worry about running over budget.

Additional Covenant-tech themed props and Scenery are definitely needed, and I’d love to see phantom and spirit props as place-able items.

Yeah, I do think we could use some more flood-centered pieces to give a bit more variance to our maps. On that topic, thought you might like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eR-khwwCe5k as much as I did.

Lazy link didn’t click it yet… seeing as you watch Shaun I’m guessing it’s the flood map video.
It’d be nice to have a city canvas map. It would be simple, too. Three different skyboxes for midday, sunrise, and night, and that’s it.
Or, if you want to add something special, have a skyscraper on the map that you can forge on top of and inside of.
