More forerunners alive?

I was going through all the Intel, all 117 of it. I’ve been needing to listen to it. And I did. Something that caught my attention was the forerunner’s record. He kept talking about the domain, and the ancilla that is curing and such. (Ancillas are AIs) I always thought all the forerunners were dead, exception being on shield worlds, cryptums, etc. But he was a builder, on a builder installation, an actual, living forerunner. Not a knight or soldier or anything, an actual forerunner. How did he live? Why was cortana seemingly wanting him gone or dead? Why was he opposed to cortana being in the domain? Those logs opened up way too many questions.

You can bet that there are probably alive Forerunners.

I hope not. The Didact being alive was bad enough. Surviving Forerunners did nothing but cheapen the whole firing of the Halo array. It was supposed to be this monumental thing where the Forerunners sacrificed themselves to stop the Flood. Then, halo 4 comes along and throws the weight of that event out the window by showing that the Forerunners had the means to survive the event.

Cryptums, any cryptum with a living thing in it survived the halo array. I belive same rules apply to shield worlds and slipspace.

I can’t recall where I read it, whether it be one of the novels or some other piece of lore, but I thought they had fired them and the few remaining had fled the Galaxy

I think something like this was in halo silentium. But I was shocked to see records by an actual forerunner. I thought they pretty much just went extinct.

That’s what we had assumed Halo CE - Halo 3

That’s what we were explicitly told in Halo CE - Halo 3. We were explicitly told by Guilty Spark that all of the Forerunners had died.

So then the argument ancient humans are forerunners doesn’t make sense because if humans were forerunners they wouldn’t be here.
