More evidence Halo 4 will be a casual fest

This is from yesterday’s bulletin:

'• Specializations

Everyone will have access to select Specializations, but those that purchase the Halo 4 Limited Edition will receive the ability to unlock six Specializations early, available at launch on Xbox LIVE. You can use them, one at a time, to achieve higher ranks in your Spartan career. In addition to gaining access to new ranks, Specializations unlock new customization options. We’ll be releasing more information about Specializations at E3, so expect additional details about this particular feature then.’

What the heck is this casual crap?

This pretty much confirms that we will have Halo Reach ranks rather than the 1-50.

So someone can spend money to buy their way to reaching higher ranks quicker? So what’s different about that and some idiots buying their 50 (according to the spastic kids on these forums 90% of 50s were bought). Oh the irony.

So, you know what they do?

PLZ calm down dude. U are guys are reaching hysterical nonsense now.

I already know the multiplayer is going to be boring.

The OP has a point. Personally, I don’t see why people should be able to BUY a higher rank or a quicker route to it.

It should be earned, not have a price-tag on it.

343i, lying yet again… saying one thing then doing the excat oposite. Do us all the favour and tell us the truth, put as out of our misery and just come out and say that Halo 4 will be catered for the casuals.

We all know it. Why hide it.

Don’t play it. Stop crying. I’l be playing it even if it’s full of casual like you say. Heck 90%+ of every games is casual players don’t try to say Halo was in majority not casual because there was always more casuals.

Why do people care more about dressing up their spartan like a barbie and reaching a rank which only signifies how much they play, rather than winning matches and getting a rank that shows your skill.

I will never understand the casual brain.

You don’t even know FOR SURE what the Specializations do. You only got a sneak peek, and one thing they say could be completely different come E3.

By the way, what’s so bad about being a Casual player? A very large portion of the fanbase is composed of players whom play for fun.

> 343i, lying yet again.

Enlighten us.

How have they lied?

I’m with the OP for this one.

But please tell me that I’m not the only one who cares for both the Competitive and Casual side of the Community. It hurts to see gaming lean towards more on one side of the spectrum.

Wow I guess halo only has multiplayer and is only about multiplayer. I must be one of the few that play halo for its campaign seeing as clearly no one else does. As the rest judge the game only on multiplayer details.

You’re not alone ^^

Did you use a slipspace portal to jump into the future?

So, what do the Specs do?

So far, he’s against people buying a trueskill rank and destroying the purpose of having one. Here, you’re still needing to earn them.

So… If these casuals insist on playing for fun. What differnce does the ranking system make? It worked in Halo 3. If you didn’t care about rank you went and played soical and custom games…

Instead 343 has decided to gut and remove the entire competitive aspect and make the game a causal fest… with no choice to play for fun or to play competitive.

I agree that trying to have a continuation of the Reach-type ranking system is bad, but the thing is, we don’t know for sure what the ranking system will be like, so there’s really no way to determine whether or not the game will work based on it. We can hate 343, in a way, but we also can’t, because we don’t know what’s really going on.

Lol you can not tell him that he simply cannot know for sure.

For he is an oracle.

You guys just dont give up, do you?

There is nothing we can do or say to change this game. When will you realize this? Continuing to complain on here does not get the attention of 343i. Simply put, they dont care to impress, or cater to complaints. You have a choice to make, buy or not to buy. If you choose not to buy then there are some good old games of the franchise that still have a little life in them, play them, or maybe find another franchise to get behind.

The constant badmouthing and negativity only makes you look like an -Yoink- to your peers and other members.

I care about them, I want them to enjoy the game too, but what I don’t want is for them to dictate how the game is.

Think of it this way, we all care about kids with downs syndrome, but we wouldn’t want them running for government, right?

Halo 2 and 3 catered for everyone just fine without upsetting anyone too much.
