More Destructible Vehicles

I started to think about this idea after I saw that you could blow off the turret of a Scorpion or Wraith in Halo: Reach. What I believe 343i should do is have this feature have three functions, indestructible (Already have), Normal (Already have) and Realistic.

Vehicle parts should be blown off either from impact or weapon damage.
Some examples of destructible parts could be:

  • Wheels/Treads from any Human Land Vehicle
  • Wing/Tail from any Flying or Covenant Land Vehicle
  • Propeller/Jet from vehicles such as the Falcon or Hornet
  • Attached player operated weapons to the vehicle such as the turrets on the Scorpion or Falcon

What would also happen to these vehicles when any of these parts would be blown off would be that the vehicle is still operable, just a lot harder to control. This could be like the Falcon spinning out until impact on the ground from the blown off wing/propeller.

That’s also why I added the three different options:

  • Indestructible
  • Normal
  • Realistic

This is so vehicles can be classic Halo, but also have a fun option for some playlists in Matchmaking as well as Custom Games. But I do agree that it should be a feature in things such as the Campaign, Firefight and Spartan Ops.
