I know It’s a training ground but is there anyway they could add a little more charm or like tribute with a memorial wall or something of past characters like Noble 6 or Captain Keyes? something else that pays tribute to Johnson. I think there’s some cool potential for stuff to go on outside of the new Halo maps. As someone who grew up on ps and pc. I am hooked on Halo. Best Franchise Ever!
We haven’t actually seen the Academy other than the Weapon Drills.
The Live Fire map is themed around the Academy but isn’t the actual Academy experience.
Im sure there will be plenty of easter eggs and such in the full Academy experience.
Like most spec ops I’m sure a lot of the stuff the original Spartan IIs did is highly classified. Also since Spartans aren’t listed as KIA just MIA they my not have a memorial at all.

the end of halo 3 had a MIA memorial for john so i dont see why they wouldnt.

This is true, but John disappeared on earth, Nobel team along with many other Spartans died on Reach which was glassed.
I hope the academy will work as a social hub in some aspects soon. It’s be nice to have a play to just hang out with Spartans and elites and just do goofy stuff. Like they’ve always had toys to play with, I mean, why not.
As for memorials it is a catch 20 with MIA Spartans and some MIA’s that have a memorial. I feel like the academy will have more and more added as the game progresses

this is an interesting idea. Reminds me of stuff done with anthem, destiny mass effect etc. have some central area where as the game progresses you change the area for lore.

Needless effort on 343s end but even something like a little cinematic easter egg with Sgt Johnson instructing on what to do in the academy, belting out orders like CE. For the training itself if they wanted to scale difficulty then changing elevations also could be good. The Academy is a great idea that I hope is fleshed out, outdoing highscores seems like a fun side activity if it’s given more variability, say time bonuses or score multipliers etc.
Sure lets pump even more resources into the academy.

Hold on Marine. Academic will have a social hub element. It could be an interesting experience.
It doesn’t really seem like an official/long-term military installation, just a pop up training base. We’ll see what happens with lore behind it first, just to see if such things are really a good fit for the place.

Like if there’s an ODST Season With an ODST Core maybe we can start seeing some ODST around; Same with an Elite season. And if it works the way I talked about with FF, Where it’s an open world area with scaling difficulty objectives; Maybe we can pick up challenges and party up then head off to game selection screens. It’d be awesome to have that level of accessibility
I hope that the Academy will be like a hub and you can see other Spartans running around and you can party up with them, along with quickly getting into multiplayer matches from the menu, or going to a spot in the hub to set one up.

It would be so cool to be able to walk around in the lobby and socialize. I would love to be able to pick up challenges go to another place to unlock armor and equip it etc. head to the pelican pad for matches etc. would be really immersive!

Oh god yes. Let’s hope and pray and try and get 343’s attention for something like this down the road. We both know it won’t happen this year or next though
