More bad words?

Anyone want chief and marines to say Yoink!?

to me, it is irrelevant, game play and story wise, for such antics to be added in Halo just for the purpose of them being there.

Maybe not the Chief, as expressions of any strong emotions are a bit out of his character (even anger). But I would like to see Marines and ODSTs to be a bit more realistic. I’ve never met a Marine who talks like Mickey.

Cussing is immensely popular in the military, so I agree with you that the ‘M for Mature’ rating should be upheld.

uuhh, not so sure about an F-bomb.

You might as well change it to 3rd Person and instead of Halo 4 call it Gears of War 4.

No swearing. It’s not the Halo way.

Well -Yoink- and -Yoink- are okay. Not -Yoink-.

its not relevant, whether language makes halo “halo”. If there is no need for it it shouldnt belong. Though if there is a situation where it would be necessary, sure.

SON OF A GUN!

Yeah, Halo definitely needs more cursing.

I hate corny spartans like Kelly and such, I wish the characters were more like in BF: BC2 where people swear alot but are funny.

“The Dallas Cowboys go to war every Sunday. And sometimes Monday.”

Most people I know including me talk like that. I say Son of a Gun a lot. In fact, it has actually been 3 years since I cussed.

Halo was created by a company who’s forums has a word filter that replaces your swear words with the world “Blam”, and when they swear in their videos, there’s a Model T horn covering the words, and now Halo is being controlled by a company who’s forums has a world filter which replaces words with “yoink”, do you really think they’re going to stick swearing into the game? I don’t.

If you knew anyone that was in the military, you would know they curse a lot.

I say words that can be made with the letters in the word like carp instead of crap because apparently your not allowed to say that is inappropriate for school…? Bull shivick just because some russian somewhere says something like that gaf instead of -Yoink- fuuuuuuuh instead of… the other word and biartch

More on topic: No i do not think there should be more cursing in halo. I think MC gets his point across more so with his actions rather than words.

Most people you know probably also haven’t been shot at by a wraith mortar before. Chances are if you’ve had a near death experience like that then you wouldn’t be bothering with euphemisms.

It confuses me sometimes… the word yoink is in the game so im like “why does this guy want cheif to say yoink…?” I did actually see this before it got edited so i know its actually the F word

One of my friend’s dad was a Marine and he doesn’t curse at all. :stuck_out_tongue:

On-topic, I think that even though it might be more “realistic,” it still doesn’t call for a whole bunch of cursing.

The only time I have ever heard someone say Son of a Gun was when they were joking.

A little more cursing wouldn’t hurt. Doesn’t have to go overboard, though.

More realistic cursing.

Ex. npc gets shot ow poop(you know what I mean).

Sure, if it’s suiteable. No need to curse for the sake of cursing, but when used right a few “strong” words deliver a bigger impact and feels more real then “son of a gun”, “yoink”, “curses”, and the like. Make it a toggle-option (cursing on/off, older games had it and it worked flawlessly).
If a 30+ Marine gets shot in teh leg he won’t say “Ao, that hurt”. If he sees his friend impaled by an elite he won’t yell “You bad big guy, I’m going to tell you mom about that!”
Why must everything be “Gears” or “My little Pony”, is there no in-between?
By the Way, Johson always managed to be a bad*ss character despite not cursing (directly)
