Greetings! As a new player to Halo 5 I’ve been bombarded with tons of promotion and match completion REQ packs as you get promoted quite quickly at the start of the game. One of the things I found quite admirable was the sheer number of armour sets, helmets and visors in the game and I couldn’t wait to try to ‘catch em all’ as the saying goes. However I noticed that, at least early on, I get soooo many more useless weapons and vehicles than I do the cool armour sets in the game such as plasma pistols, needlers, mongeese(?) and so on. This is especially frustrating because I refuse to play warzone, the only place these weapons are usable as I can’t stand turning a corner and being blown/pulverised/disintegrated to bits by the [INSERT NAME OF LEGENDARY VEHICLE AND/OR WEAPON HERE] and there ain’t a thing I can do to react. Hopefully this gets better as I rank up perhaps? I doubt this’ll change a thing about how REQs work but I’d like to hear your thoughts! I wish I could get more cool Spartan customization options than weapons so I can deck out my character.
Here’s what I roccomend,start buying silver packs until you have all common weapons or skins or armor and then start buying goldp(sorry for so many ands didn’t fell ;like deleting)

But since you ask to get more cosmetics, 343i should add a Cosmetic Pack that’ll only unlock players armours, helmets, visors and skins. I wish they have the option to customize our spartan like in Halo 4.

You know you can edit your post even the ones you already posted. Off-topic but hey! I’m giving you some tips to make using the forums easier for you.
Thanks for the tips folks. I learnt that 343 made it such that weapons appear in REQ packs much more often than armour pieces because they want newer players to unlock some shiny new toys to be able to compete with things like Nornfang and the Temple Banshee instead of going into warzone with jack in terms of powerful weapons. Hence players earn a lot of weapons first and then the armour sets later on. But this doesn’t matter because I unlocked the Scout helmet today which is the helmet I rocked for rank ~40 to 130 in Halo 4. I could never get an armour piece again and I wouldn’t be mad.

…which makes perfect sense.
Fight first, dress up later.
Yeah the req system really needs and over haul at this point. The req system is just bloated with stuff now. Players who are newer to the game are at a huge disadvantage. Especially when it comes to getting specific items. They can keep the gold, silver and bronze packs and then perhaps have sub sets or something broken up into cosmetics, weapons, and vehicles. Then players can have a better chance of getting what they want and need.
But as I tell most going for specific items is not the way to do it. Just go for unlocking everything. Use the bronze, to silver to gold method. It’s the cheapest and fastest way to do it.
