Why does Slayer DMRs start without an AR? I can’t stand getting put into close range maps without a close range weapon. Every gametype should have an AR as secondary, at the very least. That’s how it was in Halo 3, and it worked perfectly. Slayer BRs was BR primary, AR secondary. Why can’t Slayer DMRs be DMR primary, AR secondary?
I hate spawning with only a DMR or a DMR and a pistol, we need ARs in all of these playlists. If I wanted to play a game without an AR, or anything like Slayer Pro I’d play MLG.
This is kind of a mixed bag for me. As current in Halo: Reach, if AR spawns were to be a bit more viable, the pistol should probably go since it functions up to mid-range, somewhat like the DMR. The next AR should have a slight buff from Reach, being able to burst fire up to medium range, but having a higher rate of fire like the original AR.
Squad Slayer used to have DMR/AR starts, and ZB Slayer has it. Since the DMR is the utility weapon for Reach, it can be used at all ranges, though a bit more difficult at close range. Now, if it were ZB and the pistol lacked a scope, that would be the close-range weapon secondary!

That pisses me off in ZB playlist, it’s all Slayer DMRs, you never start with the no bloom Magnum, which was beast. I loved ZB, it was real Halo, but not when you only get Slayer DMRs.
I would love to see ar starts removed, I believe that precision should beat out spray and pray every time. If I want to play a game where there is no need to aim I’d play cod…

Mhmm. Lets make the game entirely for precision based playstyles, leaving nothing for close range specialists that prefer automatic weapons. That sounds extremely fun for me, an automatic weapons specialist.
Or how about satisfying both, by having DMR and AR at the same time? Crazy, I know.

Umm, if you are good at aiming, you can kill someone close range with a pistol better then you could with an assault rifle. It isn’t automatic, but it fires rapidly if you press RT fast…

No, just no.
There is no map in this game where the ar outshines the dmr, I said in my previous post that I believe precision should win out most of the time. While the pitol can be spammed, in my opinion it is a much better choice then the ar ever will be.
