I don’t know why the Banshee became the only air unit in MP but it was a random thing to take away the UNSC air units. Hornet or Falcon could we please get one or both back.
P.S. could the Mantis not replace the Scorpion tank along with the return of the Long Sword. They looked alot cooler than the Broadsword and as far as i can tell in Halo 4 the mantis short of pushed the Scorpion aside.
List which ever Air unit you want back or a new one if you please.
Well, I believe that the Falcon (and the Revenant) were cut from Halo 4 due to “time constraints”.
As for which vehicles that were removed/cut that I’d like to see return in Halo 5:
Falcon
Revenant
Chopper
UNSC Boat (maybe)
Elephant
Other than those, I could really care less on whether or not the Mantis returns. In fact, I’d be delighted to find out that the Mantis were to be absent in the next game.

Time constraints. They always seem to nip games in the butt.

Given that the edit you made to the OP (“List which ever Air unit you want back or a new one if you please.”) opens the thread up to a bit of discussion, I retract my previous statement.
More then any other vehicles, I would like the Chopper and the Elephant to return. I felt like Batman every time I drove a Chopper, and I appreciated the unique map dynamic that the Elephant provided to Sandtrap.

Really, the only unique thing about the Mantis was walking mechanic. Same old UNSC rockets and chaingun. I’d trade it for the Chopper, Revenant, Hornet, or Falcon in a heartbeat.
As for new vehicles, a friend and I came up with a couple of concepts that we thought were cool. Feel free to click below if you’re interested, I’d love to hear thoughts and criticisms.
UNSC Griffin – Heavy UNSC Mech/Aircraft Hybrid
A unique UNSC vehicle with the ability to transform between a mech and a fighter. It features a chain gun and rockets and can seat two passengers. However, the rockets are only available in its mech form, and the passengers are ejected when it switches from its aircraft form.
Covenant Chimera – Light Mobile Assault Platform
A Covenant ground assault vehicle with the ability to go stationary and activate a powerful cannon. In its mobile mode, it moves about as fast as a Prowler and features dual plasma turrets controlled by a gunner (each analog stick controls a gun, with the left and right triggers being used to fire them). In its stationary form, it would stop hovering and the driver would take control of a beam cannon. The beam cannon would take a moment to charge and fire a massive plasma bolt (almost like a Wraith blast that goes straight). Even while stationary, the gunner would still have access to the plasma turrets. The Chimera would have room for a driver, a gunner, and two passengers.
Alongside those two new concepts, I would love to see the inclusion of the Locust (a quadrupedal Covenant tank) and the Shortsword (a UNSC bomber). A bomber would be an interesting twist on air units we haven’t seen before, and I would trade the Mantis for the Locust a thousand times over.

I find them annoying to fight and boring to use. It’s really only my personal opinion speaking there, however, as I have yet to hear an overall average of the community’s opinion on it.
This Aircraft would have something in common with the Light Rifle. It has two modes.
First mode or Hover mode works similar to the Hornet, It has a Launcher that Fires Incineration Cannon Blasts but has long recharge time, and some soupped up dual suppressor cannons. The second mode is like the banshee, it has its manouverability and trick, but at the cost of the Incineration cannon launcher. Pressing “Y” would activate these changes and the respective tricks are the same.
UNSC wolf:
One man scout vechicle:
This Bike style vechicle would act like a UNSC ghost, but its base move ment speed is faster but it has nno boost ability, but it has explosive shots much like the brute chopper.
Storm Locust:
Storm Mech
Technically not a new vechicle but new to Mainstream games, the locust would provide a storm alternative to the mantis.
Hornet (was so cool and remembers me of halo 3 best missions)
Falcon
Longsword (my dream is to fly one in a really cool campaign mission)
I’d like missions with air vehicles, the only one in halo 4 was too easy and short. Missions like the attack to the scarab or the other assault coming from the sea on hornets (halo 3), space mission with the Sabre and Falcon in New Alexandria (Reach) were really cool, I hope there will be some of them in halo 5.

I added that part in because i thought about it at first but than i doubted myself thinking it would be irrelevant. I looked at my OP saw it was too short than your comment and it was clear.
I swear I remember the UNSC air vehicles being cut because they didn’t fit with the Halo 4 sandbox being said somewhere. And I understand why - can you imagine a falcon
working well on some of those maps?
So what I say is this - focus on the maps, and then we’ll get UNSC air vehicles.

I could see the Falcon being a welcome addition to Longbow or Ragnarok.
Otherwise, yeah… Halo 4’s maps may be larger than those in the other games, but they are way too crammed and cluttered to have the Falcon or Hornet operate without constantly crashing into walls or the unnecessary clutter that plagues each map…

I can’t imagine the Falcon working well on Ragnarok. There’s hardly any cover around for infantry, and that falcon would die so damn quickly to team DMR firing and the amount of PW on the map in infinity modes.
It’d be like shooting fish in a barrel with a glass cannon.

I don’t understand why people keep asking for Promethean vehicles. It makes absolutely zero sense from a canon perspective. Maybe some sort of large, dumb Promethean type you could ride as a mount, but not an actual vehicle.

It is the same colour as the concussion rifle (or revenant) and has dual concussion cannons. It would be devastating to ground forces but countered by air units and anti-air weapons.

I’m sorry, WHAT!? That’s just as bad as removing a human Air Vehicle! The Mantis should be removed or given a Covenant counterpart in the form of the Locust. I actually designed specifications for it a while back.
It’s weapons should be the Long Distance Beam, Which should have the DPS of the Warthog Turret, and have dual Plasma Cannons (Ghost DPS). also, each trigger activates a weapon, but they can’t be fired simultaneously. Pressing Y switches the Beam to Overcharge mode like it has in Halo Wars, Which drains it’s shields. It has a 1.35x (or whatever balances it) over the regular blast. Alternatively, In the same sense holding the trigger in slightly gives the Ghost a slower boost, but it lasts longer, Holding the trigger in further increases the multiplier, but decreases your shields faster. there is an overheat for both weapons, while one is cooling, the other can still be used. to prevent a constant switch spam, the time it takes to cool-down should take longer than the overheat, so there is a skill gap with this vehicle. It has a potential Longer Range, when used correctly.
As for my Promethean Dragon Idea (not responding to you here Delko, responding to S 000 DeM), Having Promethean Vehicles in the sandbox is a good Idea, they don’t need to be in campaign any more than returning brute vehicles. It’s just a fun multi-player idea. A cool new feature, the things 343 should be adding. Though I appreciate how you like the Wolf. My thought with these is that they would work well in chasing down other Vehicles and working in groups, or packs, to surround and trap other vehicles, like real Wolfs. Hence the name. The name Dragon came from the Incineration Cannon blast it would fire and the Suppressor Cannons. But upon reflection, a more interesting idea to make it unique, for those who have read about my Molten Rifle, you will see where I am coming from, the Cannons would fire capsuled Molten Hardlight that does DoT upon contact, like Firebombs from Halo 3. and leaves damage spots on map. but they are small. but the cannons would overheat quickly, and have a slower fire rate, but it simulates fire.
