more AI in FF

Just a few questions.

How likely is it for one of you at certain Affinity or 343i to set up a script in halo reach Fire fight for the human ai (in installation 04) to respawn either in drops ships or just spawn somewhere on the map when there are < 4 on the map.

How long would it take to add this ?

I know you guys are busy working on the next new installments of halo, so you guys probably won’t but just thought I’d ask.

Honestly, if I ever became lead project manager of a video game series, I would try to do little things like that for the fans. Subtle patches for stability from time to time, no matter how old the game is. That sounds like an incredibly generous thing to do, and I think it could go a long way.

I do agree with you but the juice has to be worth the squeeze. Would you want to take time out of your schedule or away from your upcoming title to work on a game that came out years ago?

I think it’d be great for someone to do little things like that to keep the old games a tad interesting still but I think its unrealistic. If anything, they need to have a sale on the DLC packs and bring back a PERMANENT DLC Playlist for those still achievement hunting

Halo Reach is no longer supported by 343 (except for routine server maintenance) for over 2 years. I’m sorry to say that your suggestion, as well as playlist updates etc, will never happen now.

I wish they did little things like that to keep fans happy who play previous games still.

Changing the amount of dropship spawns?

It would take 30 minutes at the absolute worst, even if the programmer(s) is rusty.

Its not simply a question of changing drop ship spawn times. Theres the scripting of the AI to take into account, not to mention controlling how all those AI behave on everyone elses screens. Why do you think Firefight lags more when more players are in the game? It b ecause the servers have to control all these AI scripts over 4 different players connections to make sure they all do the same thing. The more AI on the screen at the same time, the more stress on the game server and the more lag it causes trying to operate multiple AI at the same time for 4 players. It’s simply not possible now, specially with a game running on outdated hardware. Plus like I said Halo Reach is no longer fully supported by 343 and is slowly being phased out.
