It seems you guys need a constant reminder that we are nearing 2 months away from launch, and there is absolutely no room for changing what they’re planning. Tweaks and balancing is still happening, but total overhauls are not. You will not see a radical change in the ranking system, AAs be taken out, Perks be taken out, Sprint be taken out, Bloom be taken out, or any other major structural change to the game.
Stop crying for things to be changed. They will not be. Not until the game has launched. Then, and only then, can the team work on modifying the shipped game and potentially changing things like the ranking structure, AAs, Perks, Sprint, and Bloom.
> I know what ya mean every day it’s this HAS to change, or if this doesnt change I won’t get it and blah blah blah

> they should have a halo 5 suggestion box forum for all these people, it would be more useful
Or at least a PSA saying “Hey! We love that you guys are giving us feedback, but we’re too close to launch to really change anything too large. We hope that you can hold those thoughts and give them to us when we can actually do something about it. Thank you!”
I think the game actually goes gold late August/early September, if people are still expecting radical changes now then they don’t understand how the games industry works, especially with a large game like Halo 4.

I want like, a zillion gajillion foam fingers all pointing at this comment.
> Not going to argue, but Gears of War 3’s release was delayed for several months in order to give the devs more time to make the game better.
Microsoft will never delay Halo 4 unless the game is literally broken.
Holiday releases like this simply do not get pushed back. If this was an indie company we were talking about here (Or simply not a moneygrubbing corporation), then I would support pushing the game back to improve it. Facts are facts, though, and Microsoft would literally burn 343 to the ground before they delayed Halo 4 so they can sell copies by Christmas.

Halo’s Microsoft’s app killer
they have never delayed any game before but they will not release Halo 4 if it’s incomplete
> if 343 interacted with us the same way Bungie did, we would know when the game has gone gold, so all this threads could end once and for all.
Frankie said during a Comic Con interview that the team had a goal of 7-8 weeks to go gold. That was mid-July. Quick look at the calendar puts the goal at late August/early September, like Moa mentioned earlier.

Even if the game is delayed, I doubt there would be huge improvements. I mean, Mass effect 3 was delayed for 3 months, and we all know how that went.
Feedback is always important. It really doesn’t matter if the game is going gold. As long as the feedback is given in a correct form (i.e. non-flaming and constructive), there is nothing wrong with it. People will keep asking for things until the day before release and continue asking after the release. Not necessarily because they think the game can just magically be changed like that, but because their thoughts still have importance in future Halo games after Halo 4 and potential title updates to Halo 4.
In other words; gameplay changes, gameplay mechanics, new weapons/vehicles, armor, and any other feature suggestions are as valid as they were a year ago. You see, in the end, it really doesn’t matter. If 343i didn’t want feedback from the community when new features could still be implemented, they just didn’t take it. Now, if they want community suggestions for future Halo games, they just come here.
In the end, forum feedback has never been the most valuable part of game development. These forums are for discussion about Halo and if people want to make suggestions, regardless of if those features can be implemented into the upcoming game or not, people are still free to make them. Some of the discussion that isn’t valuable now might very well be valuable in the future. Just as the armor ability discussion, for example.

They’ve been reasonable enough I think. And besides which, it would NOT stop these threads and such because people who aren’t happy with the direction 343 is taking (based on what they’re seeing, what they’re presuming, and the simple fact 343 not Bungie is making the game) would still complain.
And, in my frank opinion, that’s all the more unreasonable since this is 343’s first Halo game. We’re not talking about a company who’s focus will be “how do we smooth, balance, and expand on what we did last time?”. We’re talking about a company who’re pretty new (since there are a few who were part of Bungie) to the franchise and understandably want to put their own stamp on the series as well as continue developing the story. It’d be fairer to say “in my opinion” about apparent alterations and such, and wait til after the game is released to give them feedback - especially given few of us have played any build of the game.
Well given that the game is released Nov 6th, I would think the game would go gold around the end of September as they would need around a month to press and ship copies all around the world. Your right in saying nothing radical will change but there will be improvements and changes made. Weapon tweaks, slight graphical improvements and mostly bug fixing and polishing every part of the game.
