Hey guys, today Im sharing with you the first ever montage I edited (Im not an editor) with clips from my teammate Ice, there are some nice clips against good players, hope you enjoy!
Very nice work OP! Your music choices are superb! I thought your intro was very good as well with the snow effect but I think it was a little long because it didn’t completely fade out till about a minute into the video. I say cut that time about 75% because as a viewer, I felt like I wanted to get to the action faster, especially when you still had the intro effect overlayed as your gameplay started to play which was a little distracting. Also I feel like your font, while it still works, doesn’t match the theme and tone of “Ice”. I feel a more unique font will be cool to see that better reflects the style you have with your intro and your different effects. It just feels like a generic type font and your montage is far from generic.
But other than that, I love what you have done with the effects to transition different shots! Especially when playing with different colors! Felt like I was in a fever dream which I really liked! Very stylized and very cool! Keep it up!
Thanks for your message Zeno!
Yeah I agree with you with the font but Im always struggling on choosing fonts, so I took a generic one but I should have done something in ice texture or with an ice shape.
And yep the intro is long, I was just waiting the music to start but I should have done something like panoramic views/etc.
See ya!

A good site that I use for different fonts is http://www.dafont.com/. Just be sure to check on the details of usage when you choose a font (Ex. Giving credit to author, etc). Definitely should be able to find some ice related fonts on there.

Well your music choice actually gives you an even simpler solution. Since it is a constant drone for the majority of the intro that builds up to where the music finally drops, you could simply just cut down the drone build up and merge/fade in at the point where the music drops. You might need to play around with the mixing but from the sound of it, it should blend together nicely because it is just one continuous sound.
That’s what I always find myself doing with song choices because they almost always never really line up tonally to what I am editing so I simply treat the music like the the video clips with editing and tweaking parts of the song to line up with the pacing of my edit. But be warned that it really depends tonally what is going on in the song because if there is a lot going on, blending to different parts will prove difficult. But in this case, I think it would work.
Best of luck OP!
