Monopolized achievements

I’m going through the different speed running achievements before Halo Infinite drops this December. I’ve got “Keep your foot on the Pedrogas” & “Goat Roped”, & I’m now on “Monopolized”. Are you able to do the save & quit glitch from CE Or does that not work, & if not are there any other strats to help on time saves?

Idk about CE and 2 but the newer games with checkpoints you can load in on the last checkpoint and get par time achievements still.

Glitches like this are weak sauce, it’s all very possible to do on your own, if you can’t there are communities out there that actively help new people looking for these achievements, Like SilverScorpion4 he has the youtube channel Halo Completionist where he makes guides to every halo achievement, and amazing guides for speedruns and Laso. There js also a discord by the same name where like I mentioned before, there are community members who will help you.

Save & Quit does work for Halo 2, I’ve been warned that you can’t do it on the last checkpoint in a mission or else you run the risk of the time not counting but for the most part you’ll always get a checkpoint right before the final cutscene of every mission so it shouldn’t be too big of a deal. Only in Halo 2 and CE does the glitch work, I don’t think it ever worked for any of the other games

I did it without save and quit. I didn’t know you could do that until very recently. And I still have to beat the par times on Cairo, Regret and Gravemind. Those 3 are the hardest ones, the others are somewhat a breeze in comparison, you can make up the time lost there.

If you going for “Monopolized” you should watch some speed runs of Halo 2 levels, there are a few tricks which will save you a lot of time on a few missions like Uprising where you can skip to the end early. The more you can save on the easier missions the more slack you’ll have on the harder missions.

After I learned how to pull off the sword fly/sword cancel about 2 years ago, this made speedrunning H2 much easier for me. The amount of time these tricks save has been huge. Especially the 2nd half of gravemind. That level is almost all tricking with the sword after completing the prison, or nailing the prison skip. That I still struggle with. Starting room on Gravemind also, what a pain.

I’m definitely going to be practicing that. I was never able to pull it off consistently but I just need to work on it & stick to it.

Cairo was an absolute pain & beyond frustrating. Regret on my legendary play through was INFURIATING so I’ more than a little concerned about it lol. Gravemind took me almost 3 freaking hours to get through & a large chunk of that was trying the prison skip. At that time I didn’t know it was possible to use the brute shot but still, not looking forward to it that’s for sure

Okay thank you. There are a few of them that aren’t too bad, but regret & gravemind destroyed me last time. I couldn’t pull off the despawn right at the start of GM nor the prison skip. Regret left me regretting my decision to try it lmao. i mean if truth & rec taught me anything, it’s that practice & patients are key.

Just keep restarting Regret until you finally pull off the despawn and then use Save & Quit til you complete the mission and you should end up with a good time

Alright, thank you. I really appreciate it.

If it helps, I find spamming reload + melee when you’re on the gondola usually helps with the despawning the Phantom that drops the Hunters, so you keep moving. I’m not sure why it works that way but I had better luck doing it than not whenever I do the god despawn for Regret

Jumping or using melee delays checkpoints and hence delays the spawns.

Out of curiosity, how do you do the prison skip without the Envy skull? I can never seem to get the brute to perfectly fall into the lift when it knows I’m there.
