Ok so I have been wondering this for some time now. Halo 4 is taking some big changes but what about forge, I know it may not be in halo 4 but what if it is, should we still be a monitor? To me we should change it to something fitting the game more, So maybe a watcher. it would be nice to be something more fitting the role. We could do everything a watcher does (Grenade snatch and shield) including normal forge.
Do you agree or would you keep the monitor
Why would the Watcher need all the Watcher moves? It’s Forge; it’s for map-building and editing. I don’t understand.

Also may keep griefers off you back while building.
I would only want to keep the monitor if I could use that damn beam for machinima, and maybe some other forge player options like sentinels and onyx sentinels, all for machinima please.
Forge IS in. Seeing how “War Games” is going to be based in a holo-deck, I assume they’ll use something like a human drone or a mock up of the monitor. Or just cheat it and use the monitor since they already have a model for it. Besides, what we forge as has no REAL difference. So long as they make forge better by adding more stuff.

Forge has already been confirmed in Halo 4. I really want to be a Monitor (Watcher? seems pointless and random), and able to switch colors (either color pallete or team’s color). However, I’m expecting us to be more of Enginner for some reason (though while an Enginner would be cool, nothing beats being a Monitor, especially in Forge)

Anyway, speaking of Forge, I really hope 343 puts in some things in Forge to make in machma friendly, more so that Reach!Like AI,using your mic as a voice line, a special Machina folder in file share,etc
It would be fun probably, but Watchers are larger and more clunky than a monitor. For forging purposes, the smaller would be the better choice.

I hope they let use play with AI for at least one map for custom games
Monitor of course, along with the beam that so very nearly made it into Reach.
Why not both? I’d love to be able to switch which biped I use in the settings. It’s possible in campaign using game save modding. Why not in Forge?
Here’s some possibilities in addition to the Watcher:
Engineer (provides overshields)
Monitor (has Ghost-esque boost, generates force fields, lights up). I mean who wouldn’t want to use that force field to move Elephants?! And remember, Johnson’s moniker for them was light bulb and that was before they were shown to possess an offensive beam
Sentinel (has limited boost and sentinel beam)
Ghost has a good idea, but why not take it a step further?
In a perfect Halo game, we’d have our pick for our biped character, each with distinct differences in both customization options and gameplay capabilities:
*Spartan-IV {Sprint}
*Sangheili {Evade}
*Jiralhanae {Berserk}
*Promethan Knight {Phase Run}
And then we have our Forge characters with these possibilities:
*Monitor {Heavy Sentinel Beam/Glowyness}
*Aggressor {Pickup-able Sentinel Beam}
*Huragok {Heal-Repair Beam/Overshield Provider}
*Watcher {Energy Blasts/Grenade Return/Hold X To Ride In and Out of Knight Players}
You could make one heck of a Machinima with just that kind of customization, and potentially make new gametypes where forge-based and normal player characters fight along side eachother.
