Monitor Detection

Since getting the Crossplay + Halo 4 update for MCC the game flat out refuses to launch on my primary monitor (I’ve triple checked the windows display settings are correct).
In the game the monitor selection is wrong; it incorrectly thinks my primary monitor is the secondary monitor and vice-versa. Changing this option makes absolutely no difference as to what monitor the game launches on it is always the secondary monitor regardless.

The only way I have managed to get the game to run on the correct monitor is by setting the game to borderless/windowed mode, which automatically goes to the correct monitor (not sure why borderless knows which is the primary monitor but fullscreen doesn’t). Once it was on the correct screen I attempted to set it back to fullscreen to see if this would trick it into being on the correct monitor… However this happened:

Now the game is somehow on both monitors at once… though the right (primary on windows settings) monitor is frozen and the left one works…

Not sure what’s going on here… Guess I’ll just play in borderless for now, until it’s fixed.

As this appears to be an issue with your game, we recommend heading over to https://aka.ms/HaloSupport for further assistance. Please review the latest known issues and submit a ticket if your issue is not listed.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. However that was the first place I checked… And there was nothing helpful there.
The ‘known issues’ list has similar stuff, but not quite the exact same issue.

I have submitted a ticket, however thought I would report it here as then others will know it’s not just them (as the exact issue isn’t yet on the known issue list)

I have the same issue, but found a workaround.
do alt-enter after the game loads, move the window to your screen and alt enter again. Borderless is buggy, has sound bugs and has slight stutter.
