I am closing in on finishing the personal commendations, but that mongoose destroyer one is taking the longest. i have been playing a lot of big team or warzone to try and find them but i have a problem with killing the driver before destroying the mongoose. is there any advice or tricks or anything that is beneficial to getting the destroy instead of the kill? this is probably be my last one to complete.

I need roughly 30 more kills to finish that comm. Personally I’ve had success killing mongooses with a ghost. You need to circle them so they can’t shoot you and aim for the tires not the spartan.

I have done this with a little bit of success, i think it takes 4 shots on a full health mongoose, but they can get out of site and someone else picks up the kill or they jump off. but this does work in some cases, thank you

i have not really tried the ghost. so i think i will try that when i jump on again. thank you
its easy, you’ll get them naturally, the more you try the harder it is. it was actually very easy for me. its been over a year since i got the great wheel.
I think your best bet is to req spartan lasers often in anticipation of mongooses. It took me forever too.

If you want to cut down on the process, I recommend “Prop Hunt” in Action Sack. The props use invisible Mongooses as a base, and successfully destroying them will count towards the commendation. Use the Blaze of Glory to blow them up, but try not to hit / kill the driver prematurely. The Grenade Launcher is ill-advised due to the blast radius.

i have been trying to do it naturally, now this last week i started focusing on it and ive had a little bit better success. the problem is now that im focused on its hard to get out of that mind set. because i know its going to be the last one i need and could take for ever.

Ask 343 to bring back Castle Wars
Prop Hunt and Mongoose Sumo in Action Sack are your best bets to completing the Mongoose Destroyer commendation. Hardly anyone uses them in BTB and WZ. Certainly not enough to make getting the commendation feasible.

yeah, that was still hard to get if i recall. but people were always on a mongoose in that game mode.
A bit out of the box, but try knocking people off cliffs using a ghost. It’s not the most practical solution, but it’s fun.
Wraith or phaeton. Wraith worked best for me. It was my last commendation in that group for me.

I play action sack with a friend in my fire team and hope to get prop hunt. If I do, I just get them to tell me where they are, then we farm each other lol.
