Couldn’t make a poll. This commendation is ridiculous. We need more maps that promote mongoose use. Make a mongoose rocket mini game for crying out loud. Please.

How many total do you need from level 1 to completion of level 5? 105? I have 90 in 2824 games. Granted I have not really been pursuing them, but that is a pretty dismal %. But I think it is fine as is, the other vehicle destroy commendations were much too easy.
It was the only vehicle commendation I needed left for just about all of 2016, and finally just finished it last month. BTB is the best place to get it, for sure.
The Gungoose on Basin is a pretty popular vehicle, so getting in another Gungoose, Ghost, or grabbing the Incineration Cannon is the best way to work towards it on that map.
There are times that I even let enemies finish off my Gungoose to be nice, knowing that I could just jump off and be fine, but acknowledging that commendation is awful.
I will make it a point to allow people to kill my mongoose. Maybe karma wI’ll return my commendation progress.
I just that the btb map selection was more favorable for monoose use. Lots of estuary lately.
i got mine thru action sack at rank 80 and rank 148…but since mongoose sumo is gone

I got mine when the game barely came out as everyone was using the gungoose. I used loadouts and railguns especially arclight. The best way to get this commendation is play warzone assault as many people will use those vehicles to splatter people or to stop people from capturing a bases especially in Dispatch which is the fortress snow map.

Commendations can be achieved in Action Sack, and if commendation progress was allowed in custom games anyone could just grind and get any commendation they want.
But ya the mongoose killer is hard. I’m still on level 1 and I’m a 123.
Yeah I’d love to see either the commendation reduced, or more incentive to use the gungoose. I mean I haven’t even finished it and I have nearly 30 days of playtime logged.

So I’ve grinded action sack for three days waiting for a gametype that no longer exists. I didn’t even know what to expect with sumo, just wanted progress.
I’ve played a lot of WZ assault without ever seeing mongeese in action. Same for WZ. Here’s for going for btb and an explosive weapon.
You just got to know when is a good time to fire at one and to make sure you aim at the right spot. I do not have it done but I don’t see a reason to lower the requirements or make it easier for it. Just got to know where you can do it.
I took a lot of deaths before completing the commo and I finished it just before action sack made it’s debut. Thanks 343. lol
Why so many destroys tho? The Phaeton, Mantis, and (I think the Scorpion) require 10 on lvl 5, the Mongoose requires 50. Why?
Admittedly it was my final vehicle commendation completed, but if you actively look for them in Warzone you can wrap it up quickly. Just pull nothing but railguns (particularly whiplashes and archlights) for a while and you’ll always be ready to destroy a mongoose. That’s how I did it. A few games I would hit a team that pulled them repeatedly and I would get 4 or 5 mongoose destroyers in one game.
OR if you want to get really sneaky park a gungoose outside of a garage/armory, get back, and wait. Somebody will always run out and think “oh boy a free gungoose” and hop on. BOOM! Mongoose destroyer. I got a bunch doing that too, plus, it’s absolutely hiliarous. lol

They probably assumed more people would use it due to it being such low cost.
I’d love to see Triple Team with Mongoose Rockets return (Halo 3 fans will remember)… it was crazy, complete mayhem, and a blast to play as a result - not to mention it would increase your odds exponentially of expediting that commendation, which I agree, is a pain in the -Yoink- to earn currently…
Also, Waypoint just blocked out the word a r s e … which I thought was pretty funny.

For something that concerns a fairly basic vehicle, the commendation is a royal pain in the you-know-what. Best tools for destroying Mongooses / Gungooses are Hydras, Railguns (Arclight, especially), and Spartan Lasers. Rockets can prove effective too, but the travel time makes it a difficult challenge to complete.
Vehicles also work too, but you have to be very precise in your shots; don’t kill the driver prematurely.
As someone who needs just 33 more of these. I’ll get there when I get there. Gave me plenty of time to finish pretty much all of the other commendations.
