Hey guys,
Was looking at the last few vehicle commendations I have left, and came across Mongoose Destroyer. I’m close to entering the fifth tier, but due to the low player population, I’m a little worried that I’m not going to run into enough Mongeese in general, let alone destroy them without accidentally killing the driver. Anyone know any good playlists for grinding out this commendation?
Luck has a lot to do with it. It’s by far the hardest in my opinion for the vehicles. Had the best luck in Castle Wars CTF and ACTION SACK playlists. U do get lucky once in awhile in BIG TEAM SUPER FIESTA and there you can get a Spartan Lazer and one hit it.
This one sucks my friend. Took me a long time to earn that since most people don’t use them…

I feel sorry for you guys.I play for fun not to max out everything.
Anyway,just get a big party of friends and get them into mongeese.And then kill them.
I used to complete this commendation in Castle Wars CTF by sticking Mongooses with Plasma Grenades.

This is definitely the best option
If you happen to be playing WZ and match up against a friend, maybe they’ll be nice enough to keep requisitioning a mongoose for you to blow up?
Otherwise, yeah - Castle wars seems the best way.
Castlewars is definitely going to be the way to go. There’s where I’ve gotten the bulk of mine… it’ll especially work out best if you can party up with people who’ll help you and make sure you get the destroyer… wouldn’t hurt if the enemy team was a little helpful either… 
You could also try your luck at warzone (not turbo), assault might work too, with the req level progression, you’re more apt to see mongooses rollin around the map… buuuut, that said, you’re going to be playing with more people also sooo… kind of a double edged sword there… best of luck man… I have quite a ways to go myself (somewhere low in tier 5 I think)…
Another option I forgot to mention earlier, not extremely fruitful… but it’s better than not getting any… is to pull one out in fireifght (might want to damage it a little first), and let it get hijacked… then you can turn around and destroy it… it’ll give you credit for it… Like I said… not the best idea… but it’s an option if you’re in a pickle…

Geez, i haven’t even thought about this, it’s genius! I know some Soldiers can rip you out, but I wonder which enemies stay in after they hijack you. Do you know which enemies are able to hijack the Mongoose?

They should all stay in once they hijack you… if you get lucky, they’ll find a spot and just sit and chill… not part of the main battle. You can use this method to farm hijacks too for you or your company… but like I said… I would soften the vehicle up first before attempting this, they might run off or give other spartans an easy chance to destroy it (unless you’re in a massive fireteam where you can work it out), or the hijack…

Anything to help other spartans!! If you’re ever doing warzone… let me know… might be able to try and help each other out (I need to finish mongooses too)
You can always spawn in a gungoose on warzone and use it as bait at an enemy base. Works better than you would think

Play Castle Wars while you can! In that game mode you’ll find plenty of opportunities to destroy mongooses.
yes as you say, the population on halo 5 is very low and to make its challenges now it is very complicated.
For anyone still going for this challenge, I played a few hours of Castle Wars and finished up the Mongoose Destroyer Commendation a few months ago. It is possible!
yeah castle wars helps a lot, also with the warthog cmn. I try to use moongose, to help out other spartans out there, warzone specially, i had manage pretty good spree with the gungoose´s
