Every CTF game I’m in has 2-3 people just driving around the map with mongooses. Why do people do this?
If it’s aimless driving, then I don’t understand either. I usually try to get to the flag as quickly as possible when the game starts. I’ll try to wait just long enough on a mongoose to see if anyone will go with me.
Because we have a time played rank system now instead of a skill based rank system like 2 and 3’s 1-50 system. That’s the ultimate reason why people do random stuff like this. They don’t play to win as much as in the past.
Other reasons include:
Too many Mongeeses, Halo 4 is drowning under all of them
Its fun
In CTF you can pick up someone who has just picked up the flag, hopefully, if you’re in the right place at the right time
They’re lagging too badly to actually play but don’t really want to quit out either
Its fun
I don’t do it unless I’m lagging and hate to just quit on my team, or unless I think I can pick up our flag carrier.

But seriously, the mongoose is a good, speedy way to get places.
