Why must I spend money to finish my collection
Because 343 hates those who don’t support their silly esports like you and I. I for one absolutely refuse to pay $30 for 6 skins I will never use… really, it’s so dumb.
Not really you can unlock your full collection by unlocking all Commons by bronze packs all uncommons and rares by silver packs and all legendary and ultra rares by gold packs I’m almost done like 75 percent done with my collection and that’s all I been doing.

I believe his talking about the Halo World Championships skins and armour, because you actually have to buy those and I know this as because I have everything in the game expect them ones and it’s like $13.95

OP is more so referring to the Championship team weapon skins and emblems that can only be unlocked with real world $$$$

Why do you care? Just so that you can have a “100%” displayed in a menu somewhere? Nobody else on Earth will see it or care about it. And neither will you in a few years time.
Do you go back to old games and look through your achievements? Maybe you could make a night of it, invite some family and friends round and look back through all your old games and proudly show them all the emblems you’ve unlocked over the years.
If you’re not willing to pay you’ll have to stick to incomplete collection. That won’t effect you in anyway or give you a special emblem/armour/anything to show for it.
End of the day these paid packs go to the teams from the HCS. So, they’re not about completion just showing off who you support I guess.

Well put Sir, these little pesky things should’t be what you worry about in a game. In a few years time, you will reminisce about how Halo is an amazing game and all the memories you thought about, I definitely don’t think about me not completing my armour in Halo: Reach as it is redundant as time passes.
For half the price of one skin pack I was able to get a map pack and a new gamemodes on halo 4

You obviously don’t know so let me make this really clear. There are skin that you have to buy and can’t get any other way I know this because I have 100% (without the Buy’s)

Ohhhhhh ok my bad I’m really not in to championship stuff so I just assumed that he was talking about the req system collection.

Yeah this is it. I sometimes get caught up in this stuff, then I stop and think “why bother?”. I just play for fun now with my friends, that’s what a game is supposed to be for isn’t it? I’ve done the “grinding” thing in way too many games, I have to do that at work for money so I’d rather just have fun when gaming.
It’s too easy to get caught up in this stuff, and there’s no way I’d want to pay money just to unlock some emblems or skins that I’d never use anyway.
Do you have every item unlocked so far besides the rank emblems that you need?

Umm, hell yeah. Why WOULDN’T I bring my family over to show them my mighty number 12 emblem? And let’s not forget number 3, that’s a pretty fine emblem too. Oh, and how could I not mention my number 8 emblem? Definitely something worth discussing in a few years time! Thinking back on the silver pack in which I got it… My life was never the same after that moment.
343 once stated that everything would be unlockable via the req system. It isn’t. Instead of giving OP grief about wanting to be 100% compete, why not give 343 grief for putting items behind a pay wall?
Because micro-transactions are fundamentally designed to pull at basic instincts of people so that they feel like the have to give their money out. They are not designed to feel optional. That’s how they get the big bucks from the whales.

I agree 100%. You’re dealing with a lot of 343i apologists here. They don’t care what 343i promised or said they were going to do. It’s the same people that defend why Forge wasn’t there day one, or why the UI is still extremely buggy over a year after launch, or why you cannot go in and play social slayer. They just don’t get it.
