Monday could be the start of the rise of H4

With Monday bringing new maps into matchmaking, I’m guessing impact, ascent and the other(I forget the name) along with community made maps I think Halos spark will return and with the following weeks will reach it’s full potential. I for one am excited for the new maps and everything else coming I haven’t played halo in a few days but I will definitely be playing Monday. What are you guys thoughts?

I hope.

Got Monday off, expecting to have a blast in SpOps and in my fav SWAT mode.

Looks like I gotta play some H4 on Monday then. Been waiting for forge maps to finally come into matchmaking. Took them long enough.

Agreed, both wit SOps and MM, I think the refinements, tweaking and improvements will show on Monday. I don’t expect a complete fix, but as the OP noted, I do think Monday will be a step in the right direction.

lol 343

Lol, I highly doubt it.

The maps are just a small part of what’s wrong with Halo 4. No way the majority will come back with just a few new maps. Just wait for the TU, perhaps then Halo 4 can reach its full potential.

Though I highly doubt that as well.

TU+well made forge maps+good Slayer Pro/Pro Objective playlist settings=Halo 4 reaching its potential. Hopefully Monday will be the start of the recovering Halo 4 into the game it was supposed to be. I have no doubt that the community makes some amazing maps, it’s up to 343 to be smart about including some good ones in matchmaking and following through on our feedback regarding the title update. When it’s all said and done, ideally we’ll be able to look back on the time between launch and TU1 as “the Halo 4 beta” and laugh a little about it now that we’ll have a functioning and well balanced Halo to play instead of “Reach 2: DMR Strikes Back- We Accidentally The Features.”

If that’s its “full potential” I’ll be dissapointed.

But I will say that Monday might mean Halo 4 improving significantly.

I never said that Monday’s playlist update itself will be “full potential,” but it’ll definitely be an improvement. The Spartan Ops episode 6 preview already got the tagline “finally reaches its potential,” so hopefully matchmaking can start to follow suit.

Rise Halo 4!!! ( in bane voice)

YES! The whole of 5! Count em! 5 extra people will put Halo 4 in their XBox! That’s almost a 100% population increase! What a milestone!

Not interested until ranked matchmaking is implemented.

Monday off, So excited (=

Halo 4 was a failure the second 343i decided to use the game engine of another halo failure.

People arent going to come back. They already know the game plays too much like reach and will continue playing halos ce-3 as well as other games without giving halo 4 a second thought. And when halo 5 comes out, they will either get VERY informed about wether or not halo is truly going back to its roots again before buying it, or they will simply ignore it and move on.

If halo 4 were to go back to halo’s roots, it would take a complete overhaul of the game to do it. No TU will be able to “fix” that.

And you know what? You cant please everyone. But purposefully trashing gameplay options that were in the previous games just so you can push the game’s graphics to the limit is a poor excuse.

Thats what it boils down to, good graphics vs good gameplay, and I know where I stand. Now please excuse me while I go play some halo 3.

I have similar feelings, SilentGamer.

On a side note, since the Specializations are getting unlocked, there will probably be a temporary bump while those who are stuck at 70 move up, but I don’t expect it to kindle a huge resurgence.

I was asked recently if I was going to buy Halo 5 when it came out. If I have to shell out money to get a new console to do it, maybe not…

Maybe a slight increase but it won’t last long. A few forge maps won’t fix the actual problems with this game which are loadouts, sprint, AA, ordinance drops, DMR, boltshot, and quite a few others.

This game needs a major overhaul if 343 wants the population to eventually stabilize. Otherwise it’s gonna keep dropping until the numbers become quite embarrassing to both 343 and -Yoink!- for their flagship franchise.

I hope it does increase the population. I’m ready to see what changes are made

Because, ya know, everyone knows that just because two games run on similar engines that they are completely the same.

XCOM and Infinity Blade both run on the same engine, so that must mean they play exactly the same!

Believe or not, an Engine does not dictate gameplay.
