Hello everyone
So I am one of the few people, that did the Halo LASO’s and Speedruns legit, without any checkpoint sharing glitches and without any mods. And It pains me, that 343 has turned such a blind eye to the W10 or Steam version of the game, making all of the hardest Halo MCC achievements easily unlockable by using mods/trainers.
A lot of people have already exploited Halo CE and Reach this way and in a few good days, Halo 2 will come to PC and most likely, the same damn thing will happen, then the rest of the Halo games, and It is highly unlikely that 343 are going to do anything about it.
What do you guys think about all of this? Is there anyone else like me, that feel a bit sad, knowing that literally anyone that has a spare hour can get the par score, par time and LASO achievements that easily?
Ohh and by any chance, if anyone from 343 is reading this. Please, do something about it. Its not cool when people exploit your games. Maybe disable cloud-sync between the anti-cheat and mod friendly versions of the game?
I certainly didn’t know of this and I am quite sure that publicly posting the steps on how do it was not a good idea.
If you do know of anyone doing it then the best thing you can do is submit a ticket to the Halo Support with any evidence you may have.
There are plenty of “guides” written on how to do it. Go to trueachievements.com or reddit and you will see plenty of these guides and a lot of people are doing that, just reading the comments would be enough proof. Im not even going to bother with reporting anyone, I’d just love for 343 to do something about it. A game that was a really hard and respected completion is becoming a joke now, and people that already did everything legit, before MCC came to PC are really pissed.
I edited the post, thanks for the reply
This is the unfortunate reality of going to PC though. When you open up your game to easily being hacked or modded, or cheated for, people will latch onto it like leeches and take advantage of it easily. Luckily you cannot earn achievements when EAC is disabled but playlist progression crosses over to EAC enabled on which is something that probably needs to be severed somehow (or be in a separate environment with there own progression playlists away from EAC on) and looked at (so even if you complete the playlists in EAC off, when going to On, it should only track progress when you have EAC On). Or what 343 could also do is reset the playlists after you exit the game with EAC Off. With EAC On, it will save you progress after exiting the game.
I get what your saying there’s some pride in it, but this is a business, going to pc means your not gonna be able to 100% protect the integrity of the game when we can easily just modify it. Iv seen achievement enablers when there playing on the mod version of the game for cheats, or just edit a text file and unlock ever armor.
moving forward… preventing this is impossible and even still some people lose all there work and progress so i don’t blame them for not wanting to not do the legit way a second time, we all know its not fun to do lol. But PC is master race for this reason… you have the files to alter and change beyond what any console or even jail broken console could even hope to do.
Please don’t revive old topics thanks
If you suspect users of cheating or modding in matchmaking, please make sure and file reports using the Halo Support site
