But you guys are wwwwwwaaaaayyyyyyy too strict. You have to learn to respect other’s opinions, and not to ban someone at the drop of a hat. Have a sense of humor. No offense, but most people hate you. There are constantly threads at Bungie all about ranting at you. This was just some friendly advice. Please don’t take it the wrong way.
- This sounds like something that should be through a pm or twitter.
- This will be locked. Just for your information.
Edit: wow way to make my second point irrelevant now. XD
Don’t take this the wrong way, but most your opinions about us couldn’t be further from the truth.
Don’t be sad, Math. These threads make me lulz. I liken it to how Bungie feels when people create ridiculous theories about their next game when really they have absolutely no idea what’s going on!
And I agree with those threads and this moderator here. Most of moderators here are just acting like a -Yoink-. It’s my opinion. I mean no harm but I would like to see that attitude to be changed and properly inserting bans for breaking the rules. I can give one example: A Moderator banned someone for criticizing the 343i’s work on Glasslands or other things is not really breaking the rule, it’s matter of opinion. This is example, after all.

Sounds like the moderators are doing their jobs, then.
There is so much sarcasm in the title “Community Leader” now.
I remember when you guys didn’t have any forum powers at all…or remember when things didn’t get censored…
I like the mods at bungie better at least they give warning and they can take a joke.

I have always been sarcastic. Definitely more so before I got the CL association. Now I type hundreds of responses only to have to delete them.
And am I not allowed to have my laugh?
> I like the mods at bungie better at least they give warning and they can take a joke.
The Mods used to take a joke like you, but then they took an Arrow to the Knee.
Having actually played in a party with some of the mods here, I can tell you that they can DEFINITELY take a joke! However, there are some who visit these forums who would possibly be offended by such material, and the mods are just trying to keep things clean to avoid offense.
Personally, I think they’re doing an awesome job!
In my experience, those that view Community Leaders as anything but, also aren’t very accepting or understanding of the other communities in the first place.
And they certainly can’t distinguish between the opinion and the ego that spawned the opinion.
So if a bit of sarcasm is returned in kind to sender by a CL, as long as it’s within the rules, then the difference between an insult and a witty-observation has been taught to the others that can read.
Unfortunately, those that choose not to read will not benefit from the experience.
I agree with the op, but only to a degree.
The mods here are a little strict, don’t get me wrong i love the mods.
But there are certain times that i think they get a little too over-enthusiastic about their jobs.
But regardless, i still love the mods, and this site, and this community.
Its like they say, If it aint broke, don’t fix it.
If someone stands firmly behind their opinion, they are usually aggressive. Which usually results in a ban.

And you don’t see the association there?

If they believe in something, why should they be unable to get into a valid discussion with someone who believes in another thing. As long as these certain topics aren’t against the rules, of course.

Apparently you’ve never seen CruelLEGACEY argue with people about bloom. Those are some great walls o’ text. Both sides, very passionate. Both sides, very respectful. Both sides, very stubborn.
Arguments are exciting and wanted. Needless bashing, not so much. That’s usually what happens.

I’ve also read about cases where the mods have banned certain people because they disagree with them. I’m not saying all mods are like this, but some are. Those are the ones who I want improvement from.
If someone is mature enough, they will be stern without resorting to “last ditch” efforts.
What separates us from the other animals that kill is our ability to stop and think.
It’s so much easier to do so on the internet forums as we have the benefit of seeing what we thought, before we “speak” it.
If one cannot grasp that concept, there are other forums that would cater more so to that style of banter.
That doesn’t mean we all don’t have our moments. We all certainly do and will. But there is a line that when crossed, will be enforced.
Couple more things here:
1: Those threads sometimes do become either very off topic, or very flamewar-esque.
2: I’m willing to bet nearly all of the time someone says a mod banned them for disagreeing with them, there’s a heavy amount of bias from the banned user.
To everyone, I am basing this off of other people’s experiences that I have read about. And how there are barely in threads without censorship of at least one post.
