Custom challenges seem like they’re begging to be abused. I’m not a fan of them because there are some challenges where you can get 20k credits in 10 min or less of playtime, turn em in and do it again, hitting the credit cap in about an hour of playtime then waiting for a few, which means people won’t really have to earn their credits anymore. So I guess for now just about everyone is going to use this to gain a mass ammount of credits until 343 says it’ll get you credit suspended.

They need to significantly reduce the ammounts handed out on custom challenges and increase the credit payout on offical ones in my opinion, what do you think?

Rank means nothing

/thread

While I will agree rank doesn’t equal skill, it still means something to some players. That’s why it’s in this game and a lot of others too.

This post is about the custom challenges being exploited, not about weather or not you think rank means something.

The minimum time for a challenge is 3 hours so you can’t do it that quick and i can’t see any way that you could get 20,000 cR that fast.

That’s just how long you have to wait to get your credits, you can turn it in right when you finish it and after you turn it in you can make more room and complete the same challenges over and over again.

You can get that many credits, maybe even more. I’m not allowed to say how to do it here, but if you use google you might find your answer.

Oh, i hadn’t used the turn in button yet, i wasn’t sure what it did.

meh. if people want to blow their credit cap on custom challenges, who cares? let them. it isn’t affecting you in any way, is it? i don’t care how people get their credits as long as it’s in a legit way.

There’s always going to be a minority that exploit something for their benefit. From the combinations I’ve seen (complete X in Y by Z) the payout seems appropriate. Further, not sure where your 10 minute impression comes from, but anything that is large, in order to get it legitimately, is certainly grindtacular.

I see many different uses for Custom Challenges to come in the future. The payout is consistent for both the objective and amount of time to complete. (easier is lower payout, harder is higher - as expected)

All I can tell you about the 20k in 10min is that it takes us back to the hub of farming. sword base. I’m not sure if it’s considered an exploit, but I’m pretty sure it is, so I’m not posting it here you can find it if you look for it.

The point of this thread isn’t this method in particular, it’s the fact that custom challenges are going to be boosed a lot unless they credit payout is less than it currently is.

the target designator “trick?” that’s pretty well known.

Yeah, I know we can talk about that. It’s the settings of the challenge that allow you to get a bunch of credits that I’m not sure about.

I just checked a few things i’d imagine to be associated with that and the payouts are aren’t high at all.

doing multiple challenges at the same time that are moderately high add up pretty fast.

Honestly, having people who just want the credits rank via custom challenges is alot better than having them rank via AFKing in FF or being terrible in matchmaking. At least with custom challenges it won’t have a direct impact on the game experience of other players.

Honestly, I see it being a way to get everyone to the highest rank by the time Halo 4 comes out so we will all be willing to move on. Plus, credits mean nothing anyways, so there’s no harm in it. Btw… Custom challenges? o.O I am new here and haven’t heard of such a thing…

When you pose a question, simply because the feedback doesn’t fit your perspective, doesn’t mean it isn’t applicable to the topic.

When you pose a question, there are multiple perspectives that are taken into consideration in order to reach a conclusion.

Instead of looking at things from your black or white perspective, perhaps try attempting to comprehend that there is a lot of gray in opinionated responses.

The custom challenges have an appropriate payout based on the objective, no they don’t need to be regulated down to make them less appealing than the dailies, for reasons already mentioned.

Have a great day!
