Yes. Tampering with the game is against the rules.

It’s uncommon for people to get banned while playing custom game mods. However, any modding done to multiplayer-related tasks from your console will get you banned.

It is within the Halo Waypoint Forum Rules. I also care about people and don’t want to see then get in trouble. Since you seem inclined on questioning the rules, you can read them here . Additionally right from that page, quoting BS Angel

No. Playing the nodded gametypes is perfectly fine. Hence the addition of mini slayer in action sack. It was a nodded gametype that 343 added in.

Content modifications from 343i are okay because 343i owns the content. Content modifications from anyone else are not okay because they do not own the content.

actually by what the last statement says. he is not talking about modding himself. He is asking what the penalties of modding are if one was to do it. In order to go against that he would have to state something like," hey, found this useful custom game hack. PM me for more info." or “does anyone know of some good hacks going around? I really bored with this game right now and are looking for fun ways to enjoy this game. PM me if you know of anything.”

Depends what kind of modders you mean.
Epic\fun custom game mods =good
Matchmaking cheats =bad
