Title says it all, Halo Infinite should have some form of modding capability (maybe not official at launch) but something similar to what the MCC has right now.
Yeah, something like Halo Custom Edition, But not a seperate game.
What you’re asking for is mod tools and yes, not only do I think we need them, I’m also convinced that it is the only thing that would save Hi’s 10 years plan in first place. I had a tread made two days ago exactly about that in fact, but apparently talking about that breaks the forum rules. Official tools from the devs themselves, but you’re not allowed to talk about it. I’m still baffled!
> Do not discuss or post links to any topic that violate the Xbox Terms of Use or Guidelines, including but not limited to profane, defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent or unlawful topics, names, material or information. So caution, this will get the ban-hammer as soon as the modders see it sadly! Even though I don’t understand why. They are not illegal, mod-tools are official pieces of software from the creators and owners of the ip, modifications and add-ons have helped a lot of software production (not just gaming), they work with their own launcher so they don’t affect the main game. Really disappointed! But it’s not not my place to decide what we can and can’t talk about.
Just know that discussing mods (even possible official tools) is against the rules on Waypoint.
Anyway you look at it, it is going to release on steam and there is a pre-existing Halo Modding community. Mods are going to happen one way or another.

As someone who has “incredible amounts of knowledge” talking about modded content, I don’t think talking about official mod support really counts as breaking the rules.
Could a mod (pun intended) please clarify? Mayhaps stckrboy

I thought so too, I even clarified that I wouldn’t talk about certain old mods for Custom Edition to avoid all issues. Apparently that doesn’t change the matter on hand. But this aisde, mine was just a head’s up for OP. Personally I’ll stop here, don’t wanna get banned (again) for something so imho mindbogglingly meaningless and silly (again).
Discussing what kinds of modding tools you would like to see in Infinite is totally fine, as is discussion of what types of mods you would like to see created. As long as none of the mods are anything that would touch matchmaking, achievements or XP manipulation it should be fine.
What you can’t do here is discuss existing mods that break Terms of Service. Talk about the features they have, sure, but don’t mention them by name or do any funny work arounds to try and call them out “the mod that cannot be named”, etc.
Good: “X is a cool feature that would be nice to have available to modding tools in Infinite”
Bad: “X is a cool feature that Y mod has, we need things from Y mod”
Edit: Also, in future, please don’t discuss your bans or warnings
I have a feeling Xbox will get access to mods in some way this time around. Maybe modding will be built into forge instead of being an external program.
I hope we get walking toaster mod
I do hope we get mod support, and in a perfect world mod tools like Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005) and Halo Custom Edition. The potential for things like custom campaigns, more extensive custom maps and so on would be limitless, especially with Halo’s sandbox.

I still player OG Battlefront II to this day and a great many other classic star wars games (Empire at War in particular) to this day quite regularly due to mod support.
