Mod Suport for Halo 5

Since Halo 5 has a PC version, I can easily See people making mods for the Game that go Beyond Playing Forge Offline or having Ai to fight on Forge Maps. Why hasn’t 343 Have Mod Support For Halo 5? Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition shows that it’s possible (Although I would like it to be Like Steam when it comes to mods, not Bethesdas Paid Mods BS that they are trying to pull.) Like Modes, Map/Map Skybox Ports from Past games, Weapons from Older Halo Games, and would be like Prefabs when your searching but now it’s Mods, instead of “Drop Prefab” it would be “Download then Place Mod” so that after downloading the mod, you can go through your Downloaded Mods afterwards as a quicker way to find them. So Many things come to mind rn such as Forge in Campaign/Warzone Maps (Not Have Ai it’s just the Map) Custom Games WZ where people have Full Access to the Warzone Maps and Modes without using their Req Cards so it’s a way to try the cards out. Upping the Player Cap so now we can Have 24 Player Custom Games, Graphics/Texture Overhauls, and SO much more! I Bet it would bring those who liked Bungie’s Halo to at least come over and check the game out. Turn Halo 5 into a 3rd Person Platformer, a Western RPG, or A Survival Horror? There is a Mod for that. Want to Play Classic Halo on the Classic Maps? Go For It. Want to play a 24 Player Infection Game? Do it! Want new Gamemodes and Maps that Can Look Like Dev Maps and Play with PC Players? Do It! Want New Gamemode Customization Options? Do IT! Want New Forge Pieces, Play On Warzone Maps, Campaign Missions as Warzone Assault? DO IT!
NO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!? DOO IT!
DEW ETT
THIS IS HOW WE DO IT
JUST DO IT

And Hell, The PC Comunity Would DEFINITY be on Board for that -Yoink- cuz they have been waiting to be unleashed.

I do think that mods should be available for every platform, but I don´t think it will happen right now, or a year from today, but it will ultimately become a thing.

It would be awesome to have mods for Halo 5. Would really revive my love of the game.

P.S. It’s against the rules of Waypoint to talk about mods I believe, so this will be locked soon.

This is a little bit different than the standard topics we get about modding. While it is against Xbox ToS to mod your game or Xbox, discussions around providing an official supported avenue for this I think are ok - just make sure to steer clear of talking about existing modding tools / pirated content / etc and it should be fine

That makes sense, I’m all for mod support for games. It allows fans more freedom in creating what they want, makes the game refreshing years after release (I still play PC L4D2 because there are always new campaigns to play). Halo 5’s Forge was a huge step in the right direction. Say what you want about 343, but you can’t say that Forge is way worse than anything Bungie made.

Point being Mods are good, only problem is they will need to be monitered heavily.

Maybe not Halo 5, but Halo 6

First thing I’d do for sure is to try and port CE Weapons/Maps/sounds to use in forge or the UI to change the HuD or Main Menu, then the other Halo Games. :3

I’d love some graphics mods! Already have all the chivos anyway so wouldn’t bother me. Main reason I don’t use mods on skyrim. If I’m gonna play and do stuff that unlocks chivos, I want said chivos.

And complete irrelevant and random, but my phone auto corrected the first Chico to convo, left the second time alone, then auto corrected the third to chicks. I laughed when I noticed

Sure why as long it doesn’t change affect gameplay in matchmaking I’m okay. I can imagine how chaotic custom games would be with some of the mods.

If there’s a UI mod that’ll change the display to look like Halo Reach’s UI, I’m sold and happy to download and replace.

Maybe in the future if h5 every gets released on PC.

It is no secret that mods on console are possible today. Maybe 343 can borrow a page from Bethesda’s book

It probably won’t happen in H5, but it could definitely happen in H6.

I think this will not likely happen as it allows a slippery slope for an easier route of modding matchmaking gameplay.
Buuut, I would love to see mod support so that you could customize and even maybe model new armors and helmets so that you could really develop your own personal Spartan.

I’d be all for this, but I don’t think it’ll happen in Halo 5.

There’s been enough statements about support for it though that it might actually be possible for H6. Biggest issue I can see at the moment is that the platform would need native mod support, like steam workshop.

343 would also have to consider how much of the engine tools they should license to content creators. But considering that there’s a history for this stuff (like with Halo CE) , I think it would be worth considering on their end. Mods add a lot of replay value and would probably erase a lot of their bad PR since it’s a show of good will.

ABSOLUTELY and of course, Mods would be (in the long haul) more beneficial for 343 since now they don’t have to focus on Everything the community says since modders can handle that, and make more Quality of life improvements. And maybe a form on Waypoint could be used to find good maps and modes that could be bundled in the next update with whatever that they added.

want to or not, I dont think UWP supports mods which is unfortunate.

UWP?

its the type of file games/apps are from the windows store. MS has kept them on lockdown to prevent modding/piracy
But it also makes them a pain for development afaik. Cuphead on Win10 jutters while the steam version runs perfectly smooth for example.

Another thing I can see for the use of Mods is Seasonal Maps/Assassinations/Stances Jack-o-lanterns and spoopy ghosts and ghouls, movie monsters and/or the flood for Halloween, snow versions of maps with snowmen, using real snowballs, Christmas tree versions of all trees (same tree type, but keep the height of the OG trees and of course lights and ornaments on them). Fireworks and a countdown clock for New Years, and Much More!

I don’t know with halo 5 being on the games subscription and having microtrancations there isn’t really any reason they would have to end support. If you think about most games with microtrancations there is no end to their evolution.

I know it’s been said that it is the end but does it need to great games with microtrancations never really end. If it does then it’s maybe not the healthiest system to have for attracting players. I think a typical example of games I’ve played tend to have smaller updates followed by balance changes before adding more content.

I know I would really enjoy playing a modded campaign for sure. If I could create mods I’d probably add all sorts of equipment that we have had in previous games and old armour abilities made to be like equipment with customisation options.

I agree with it not being in Halo 5 (due to time more than anything)
