Now that I have your attention with that THRILLING topic, I’d like to talk to you guys about something today: complaining. It’s annoying. We understand you have problems or things that you don’t like about the game, but whining on the forums and thinking that 343 will answer your pleas isn’t going to solve anything. Just because this is an official forum doesn’t mean that whatever you say is always being monitored…
I’m fine with constructive criticism, but it seems like all of you whiners ever have to say is how “343 destroyed Halo” or “why x and y break the game”.
My point is, there just isn’t enough actual discussion on this forum. Sorry for making a thread that is just as bad as the people complaining, but whatever.
Sadly no game forums can get real discussion threads to take over. As long as there is a potential for imbalance or someone to get mad, they’ll always be complaint threads.
And since the majority of the people who post said threads or who might post said threads will most likely never even see this thread, means they’ll keep coming anyways.
The only thing LESS useful then a whining thread is a thread made purely to draw attention to the whining threads on the board.
That is like popping on Reddit or -Yoink!- and saying “There are trolls everywhere. Look at all the trolls. Stop being a troll.”
They want attention. The threads are made for attention. Drawing attention to them encourages more of them.
See a whining thread about a topic you know a bit about? Turn the whining thread into decent discussion. Ignore the whining players. There is always one guy in every thread who you can have a decent conversation with about just about anything.
I agree the complaining gets annoying fast. I do however appreciate the threads that go into detail about an issue and explain why it is an issue and give some feedback on possible fixes. For example the boltshot pistol threads that say “we need a fix because of the reload glitch” then they will go into discussion. I am ok with that, not ok with “ZOMG FIX BOLTSHOT NOAW ITS SOOOO BROKEN AND OP!!!1!!one!!eleven”

What would be nice is if that the moderators could merge all the threads that are complaining into their own individual “mega” topics. That way there could be one big “Rank 1-50” topic that people who care can post away in… one big DMR vs whatever thread… and so on.
If someone starts up a new thread it can quickly be added to the previous similar thread.
But only as long as nobody stickies them of course.
It’s just that you have to scroll through multiple pages of topics to find ones that are new.
