This is why you’re probably never going to see magnetism or aim assist to bump up MnK’s accuracy against controller players. Objectively speaking, MnK has faster look-snap, superior first-shot accuracy (why half of “MnK owns Controller player” vids are just dudes hip firing a sniper to shield strip before a BR finisher), and complex maneuvers are easier to pull off as MnK is more ergonomic than controllers.
It’s just that without drag assistance, strafe dancing has a noticeable impact on MnK accuracy.
There are a few tweaks that could HELP, but some pros and cons are set in stone. The only TRUE fix that solves the entire problem would be disabling crossplay entirely, which is already an option in Ranked, but that creates several other problems. Most notably, I couldn’t play with my brother without being forced to return to controller. Not that I couldn’t do that; I’ve actually been practicing that a bit for my own experimentation with the control/accuracy differences, and I have a lot of old muscle memory with controllers; I could brush the rust off.
But some people really might not be able to do that, and some just won’t want to. “Learn controller then lol”. Easy for a controller player to say, I suppose, but it doesn’t change that 343 won’t abide by that line of argumentation.
So, simply put, I think it should stay as is. How it’s set up now will satisfy, most likely, the greatest number of people, though I’m sure those that scan these forums every day think they are the majority. Crossplay is enabled, and there are input specific playlists for Ranked. That is the most pragmatic option, is it not?
