It just occurred to me that I might never get the ice skin. And the reason being is because of differing MMR than the 343i players. MMR is used on all playlists correct? Regardless of social, arena or warzone right? If it didn’t we would have even more lopsided matches even in social.
Uny and others usually play with other 343i ppl on the team and as such wouldn’t their MMR be higher than the average player, say me? How could I ever match against them or am I way off-base in this? Just wondering if anybody knows?
I think the other players they team up with help even things out, since it is also based on the average of the team. I would look through their game history and see who they are getting matched with.
I think what is more concerning is they play with a team, and with the new party restrictions in place it would make it more difficult for solo players to be teamed up with them. Also they are only on for an hour. So that is maybe 4-5 games.
I wish they would go in solo give us more of a chance, and maybe play longer.
Edit: Just checked and they played a total of 8 games with 32 lucky winners. I didn’t check what the other players CSR was.

I’m sure in social the MMR is relaxed somewhat but yeah for them being in a party seems another way randoms get the short end.

I can’t tell whether you are being sarcastic or not, since I am quite left brain I take most things on the literal side. There are two players on that team that had been pros at one time. When you look at their profiles both GH057ayame and Unyshek both have reached Champion at one point. Maybe Bartleby VII and GrimBrother One are not quite on that level, but that’s what we are saying. That they even each other out helping those of us on the lower tier and higher tier to both have an equal chance.
However, it my thought that that is less of an issue than the fact that they play in a team, and only for an hour. There have been party restrictions implemented, and the search will try for a party match first and foremost. More than likely they will continue with this type of play date, and our best bet is to also go in as a party with two highly skilled players and two lower skilled players. In order to have the best chance of matching up with them.

I’m not going to hold my breath getting it the play date way. As Dax says party restrictions, 1 hour cutoff, countless ppl quitting when they realize they aren’t playing 343i and play dates about a month apart, odds aren’t good.
What would be fairer is if you ever matched with a 343i you would get the skin.
Otherwise, gold req pack unlock please.
