MLG WILL NOT SUPPORT h4 IF?

My brother who knows everything about MLG and watch’s all the pros streams has informed me that the president of MLG Sundance DiGiovanni will not support halo 4 if its not up to par with all other halos excluding reach. After bungie released reach the population dropped considerably over the 17 months it has been out.The amount of halo pro teams have been dropping from H2->H3->Reach and if they keep dropping then Mlg will pull the plug on Halo and find another FPS to sponsor for Mlg.The reason teams are leaving reach is because they don’t like it anymore. Its does not have the competitive edge they want that other halos had. Most pros are going back to H3 from what he said or finding another game. Now idk if this is true but it sounds like it is cause if I was the ceo of company I would cut the weakest links first.

Is MLG support that important?

inb4 blind MLG hate

I think 343 is going to do a good job at listening to the competitive community, the TU is probably just a taste of what we will see later this year.

MLG are spewing up a ton of drama, they even admitted it themselves when they released the MLG Settings, they got it wrong in one of their discussion streams a while back.

MLG simply isn’t happy that Reach wasn’t Halo 3, it was too different for them to adapt too, I personally don’t care if ‘MLG doesn’t support Halo 4’, that’s a loss for them, and their own personal choice if they don’t see a game good enough for them anymore.

And?

MLG doesn’t have a monopoly on Halo. Plenty of other people out there play it.

Goodbye MLG.

MLG needs Halo more than Halo needs MLG.

> MLG needs Halo more than Halo needs MLG.

Starcraft 2, buddy.

yeah tough doo doo for mlg. I’m sure we will be fine without them.

This is true, but what he was saying that Halo does not need MLG to still sell and do well as game. Personally I do not care what happens, but time will tell.

In fact nobody need MLG to sell. MLG try to do money (lots of it) on already good selling game period.

English, please?

By the way, called it!

That would be a bad move on MLGs part, but if they are not pleased with the direction 343 is taking Halo they should part ways.

I highly doubt MLG will do this as Halo is a top 10 xbox live game and has been for a decade and MLG has been riding Master Cheifs coattails the whole way.

Its a shame that appreciation for an amazing partnership can be tossed out with one game, which can be changed to anything they want. Honestly isnt the MLG playlist basicly Halo 3.5?

Halo made MLG, and why would the baby try to pull the plug on it’s mother?

I don’t think that Halo necessarily needs MLG’s support, but if MLG were to ‘support’ the gametypes would be more competitive, I don’t really care for competitive. MLG does play a big role for those that are competitive, for me it would be just another thing that goes on.

I don’t think that MLG would want to do that either, because Halo has a mass population and a mass amount of fans! So, this would be kind of considered suicide, in many ways…

Honestly I don’t blame MLG for their decision of Halo 4 isn’t up to scratch… They have plenty of money to be made elsewhere as one of the biggest CoD, LoL and SC2 tournament holders.

Nothing much in this part of your post but ignorance… MLG isn’t happy with Reach because, not only do the default setting have many competitive flaws and a smaller skill gap than any previous game, but there are limited options for them to give it as large a skill gap as possible.

Bland grey maps mean Reach isn’t a good spectator experience. Not only that… the game has one of the lowest populations out of all other titles in the series, so supporting it is just losing them money.

Even If MLG left I don’t see how it would sway me not to buy the game.

It’s their loss. Halo will always be an amazing game, no matter what others say.

umm ok. honestly a majority of ppl will be glad if mlg goes away. There are plently of games that have competitive settings in there games that are not even associated with mlg. i dont see why even if mlg left halo 4 why the game couldnt still have its own set of competitive rules. i know this might be a bit of a shocker but mlg is a small portion of the halo community.

What is wrong with you?

All you ever say is that the only reason people think the game is bad is b/c they can’t adapt.

Listen up buddy; just b/c the game is horribly designed to destroy any competitive merit does not mean the players are at fault. Adapting to crap is not a viable solution.

I get it, you like Reach but that does not mean you understand the competitive shortcomings of the game and why many people are upset with it.

You have your opinions but don’t dismiss others just b/c you don’t understand.

Why do you think as soon as Zero Bloom came out, they adapted it, it was similar to Halo 3, why do you think they increased movement speeds and jump heights, it was similar to Halo 3.

With what MLG have now, they can provide a much more skilful gameplay style, if they drop Halo 4 because of Bungie’s unsuccessfulness with Reach, it would amuse me, considering Bungie haven’t got the slightest input in this game.

MLG would be fools to part from Halo, Halo 4 will be a hit, regardless of how it turns out, for the first few events in MLG for Reach, it was packed and slowly reduced to less teams competing, even if Halo 4 wasn’t the game for them, they would still take it aboard and leech as much money out of it as possible.
