There has been much talk about implementing a ranking system into the MLG playlist over on the MLG forums. I was wondering if 343 could make this happen. Any sort of ranking system at all would be helpful. I would even settle for the Arena ranking system. The same ranking system as the Arena, but with MLG gametypes and maps.
This would benefit everybody who plays Halo because it gives people a reason not to quit, it gives people a reason to play and it lets you play against and play with players of your skill type. This is what made Halo 2 and Halo 3 fun to play for myself and I’m sure numerous other Halo players.
I know I’m not the only one who wants to see Reach do well in 2012. Let’s see if making a ranking system in the MLG playlist can give Reach what it needs to survive 2012.
FYI there is a background ranking system that you can’t see. So you should play games with people around your rank… however population plays big time into it and other factors to who you play with. #trueskill

I know Urk saying that in one of Bungies front page posts. They most likely DO have a number in the background, but that doesn’t mean the matchmaking system always ensures a correct matchup…
Two things i noticed:
one, I didn’t know you, coca mola and the little moa were friends
two, I frown upon you three for not scoring the flag and instead spawnkilling the -Yoink- out of them. However, I think I’d do the same if i were in your place. Human nature and all that.

If it is an invisible number that does nothing, it might as well not be there at all.
It was technically Slayer, there wasn’t any point in scoring the flag. You can blame the Credit system for that. But we didn’t actually have a spawn trap down until the end of the game. They were just unable to kill us.
There is no such thing as an invisible rank. I still get matched up with players no where close to my skill. I even get matched up sometimes with people who just got the game, thats an insult to me as a good player to get compared to a player that just started playing the damn game.
Please 343, rank MLG and bring Doubles Arena back. There is no way this would require much work.

Killa KC has contacted them long ago about implementing Arena towards the MLG playlist. It’s just a matter of the awesome MatchMaking Systems Team (LoveUGuys!) have the ability to implement it into matchmaking and make it work. Maybe one of these months before the launch of H4 we will be able to see the Arena applied to multiple playlists.

Killa_KC only asked them to bring back 1-50, which 343 said they wont do because it requires too much man power to manage and implement. This is understandable, but to bring the Arena ranking system to MLG has not been mentioned nor has it been pushed to Killa_KC for him to ask 343. I hope the matchmaking team on the forums can reply rather than having Killa_KC ask them.

I swear I saw KC say something about Arena ranks on his twitter.
They shot down the 1-50 idea, but the Arena division rankings shouldn’t be that hard to implement. Hell, put it in all gametypes. Most people don’t even know how to get through the menu to see where they stand anyway. It would help with “fair” matches, as well as let you know how you stand compared to others. Win/Win situation.

Well then if it is possible and cost/time effective then I think 343 should do it, most that play Arena now want rank with pickup powers, those that have pickup powers want rank.
The MLG playlist would have a nice bump in population, but that would leave Arena even more of a ghost town unless something was done to attract population there.
