MLG players paid for positive impressions?

Halo 4 HANDS-ON Impressions by Nexy

He actually likes OP grenades, spamming the overshield and sprinting with the sword?

Either he is gaming’s Justin Bieber or was paid by 343i.

What do you think about that?

Also, let me remind you that most of the MLG community gave Reach a good first impression only to admit that they were put in a situation where they couldn’t act differently, when the game shipped.

These guys are the same way.

Would you risk future early hands-on access to Halo games? No. They aren’t being paid, but certainly bribed and blackmailed. The reviewers are the same way. You can’t say anything bad about the game or the publisher may not let you review the next one.

Sure, they’re just going to hand out bribes and non-disclosure agreements. If pros don’t speak the truth or feel uncomfortable that’s their issue.

There is no way they are paid for their responses, positive or negative.

If you open that door then you have to agree competitors to Halo could pay pros for negative comments and positive ones about said developers other games. So in the end it evens out anyhow.

It’s silly to think this.

I smell a little paranoia, so now people can’t like a game or think positively of it unless paid, bribed or blackmailed? Hmmm

Reminds me of the NBA with refs.

In all honesty, this guy just sounds like an -Yoink!-.

I doubt these opinions are bribed, but honestly, send me a video or post from somebody who was just appalled by the gameplay in one way or another. Really.

Paid, no.

It might be a little awkward to bash a game you were invited to play early and to have an exhibition match for e3.

They are probably having genuine fun playing the game at e3, however I can guarantee they would not be saying such great if they were playing Halo 4 as is for a 20,000 dollar tournament prize.

This is starting to turn into the presidential election. “Let’s pay MLG players to voice their opinions because they matter.” Diff’rent Stokes for Diff’rent Folks. People will say things that they like or dislike. To say that gaming companies “Bribe” or “Pay” for good publicity is silly. It’s like paying Joe the Plumber for good publicity to win votes. What does he matter? He only reaches out to people who are influenced by him. I doubt a good portion of people listen to what MLG folks have to say. That’s just my opinion though.

GO OKC!!!

Couldn’t resist

I seriously doubt he was paid. Of course Im not saying he gave an honest opinion, it would childish to insult a company that was kind enough to invite you to something thousands would love to go to.

Seriously, who gives a hoot what MLG players think about the game? Why does it matter if he likes it or not? All of MLG could hate Halo 4 and i wouldn’t give a flying -Yoink-.

Let the pros play the game, they said

let the pros play the game

The pros must be being payed off, they say

Jesus Christ.

Waypoint forums. No lower level to sink to.

Or maybe because he, unlike you, makes impressions based of actual gameplay and hands-on time with the game itself instead of guesstimating how the title will play based off trailers.

You are what contributes to this cesspool of idiocy lingering around here.

There’s a notification saying that he, “LOVESS HALOOO 4!” and in the comments section he reminds people that he, “LOVESSS HALOO 4!”. I’m sensing a bit of sarcasm.

Every single Halo game has been praised by people who got their hands on it early. Even betas are praised like crazy. Games when they first released are praised. The fact that it’s something “new” is what get’s everyone all giddy. The only honest opinion you can get is from people that have played the game in the comfort of their home for at least a full night or two. This is why I could care less about others opinions. I’m gonna go by what I see and buy the game and then I’ll make judgement.

Feedback from MLG players is the most valuable feedback when it comes to testing core gameplay mechanics.

There are no realistic impressions. The closest we ot is Nexy exclaiming how awesome it was that Promethean Vision, Unlimited Sprint, and Ordinance Drops are so OP.

Someone likes something that I don’t like. Obviously they are being paid off.

lol wut

They may not let you review the next one, what are you even talking about?

You mean you think they are unrealistic because you have absolutely no idea how they work or are balanced, and instead of this predominantly negative image of things you’ve never played with before.

You’re giving your recessive genes quite a workout, aren’t you.

No amount of Armor Abilities, perk combinations, and ordinance drops are going to counteract the core gameplay and you and the primary weapon you get attached. Nothing, period.

> edit; And before you shout “you fought scrubs”, only the first game I played was a -Yoink!- fest (I got first place on my team with 30 kills, followed by Voltron with 23 or so), the rest of the games I played were against people who knew what they were doing.

Another highly positive impression right there.
